3 Kira Fallert – Concordia Academy : The 5’11” outside hitter helped her team stay ranked in AA behind Marshall (#2) and Stewartville (#1). Kira has been making a name for herself since eighth grade when she was moved up to varsity. This year was different with no chance of a state tournament but that didn’t stop her from racking up some great stats and climbing up from #5 to #3 in our rankings. Her team ended 9-2. They lost to Stewartville but Fallert gave it all she had with 16 kills. Likewise, a close battle with AAA Bloomington Jefferson she had a season high, 27 kills.
- total for 2020 season: 178 kills with 0.439 efficiency; 21 ace serves; 78 digs
9 Jaidyn Brower Jaidyn Brower 5'8" | S Stewartville | 2021 State MN – Stewartville : The state champion could put on a setting clinic and we know it would draw a crowd. One of the shorter setters we see running a 5-1 at 5’8”, Brower is a player that makes her teammates better. The ultra competitive athlete helped her team maintain an undefeated season even without the promise of another title. Her season high 44 assists was against rival Kasson Mantorville. She finished with over 300 assists; this is extraordinary considering many of their matches only lasted three sets. It will be hard to imagine the Tiger’s offense without Brower. No word on her commitment yet, but she will take the court again on the SMV 18-1’s
- ends her high school career with +2,000 assists
41 Olivia Koepen – Minnetonka : Olivia has been in the top 50 on our rankings but jumped up 7 places after an incredible season. The pandemic did not slow down the 5’7” setter. She ended the season with 422 assists, and a second place finish behind Wayzata. In fact, we thought they might edge out the Trojans when they won the first set 25-23. Unfortunately, they couldn’t outlast them but Koeppen put her team in a position to have a chance to win finishing the match with 45 assists.
- played on M1 17-1 last season with Sophie Jessewitz (Wayzata) and Riley Walsh Riley Walsh 6'0" | OH Breck | 2021 State MN (Breck
59 Kylie Pittman Kylie Pittman 5'9" | OH Waterville-Elysian-Morristown | 2021 State MN – WEM : Pittman caught our eye as the starting outside on the 11-0 Gopher Valley conference champion team this year. Up nearly 30 spots she proved what she has to take to be among the top 60 in the state and we don’t want to have to stop watching her. She heated up with each match -peaking at the end with an amazing 29 kills (57 attempts, & only 4 errors.) against Minneota on Nov. 20th.
- plays volleyball, basketball and softball
65 Justine Bastyr Justine Bastyr 6'3" | MB Lakeville North | 2021 State MN – Lakeville North : At 6’3” the pin hitter is hard to miss, but when you are on one of the top teams with all-state caliber players, it can be hard to shine on your own. This year, Justine really stepped up. Her role is still that of a secondary contributor and she doesn’t get nearly the number of sets as others, but she makes the most of each attempt. In fact, 37.7% of her hits are kills. She added 6 kills (0.437) in their match against Rosemount.
- made the 18-1 MN Northern Lights team for the 2020-2021 club season (unsigned)
85 Anna Rolley Anna Rolley 6'1" | OH Shakopee | 2021 State MN – Shakopee : Shakopee was stacked with a handful of talented seniors; but they relied on the strong swing of the 6’2” outside. With her long reach and high contact point, she loves hitting line. Many times she hits over the block but she can also tool the block with her powerful snap. When they played Eagan ‘ last=”]’ last=”], she had 11 kills against some of the best blockers and defenders in the league. This, along with other strong performances moved her into the top 100 for her class.
