We will start our analysis of the final 2021 list by featuring the Omaha Skutt Catholic Skyhawks. With a four-year varsity record of 134-21 and four Class B State Championships, players and fans are well aware of the talent on this squad. Perhaps one of the best teams ever in the state! No need to post stats here because chances are, volleyball fans already know the greatness on this team!!!
Coach Renee Saunders comments, “This has been one of the best classes to ever come through Skutt Catholic with 6 of 7 signing to play volleyball at the next level, including three at DI, one at DII and two at NAIA. They have given their all to our program and truly left their mark. I will miss their smiles, their competitiveness, and their silly personalities that made them so much fun to coach! They are awesome people, awesome teammates, and an inspiration to those around them. Nothing but love for this class!”

Why I love this sport!
⇒Allie Gray
The feeling of having everything pay off in the championship dog-pile. Being surrounded by the people who challenged you each day, and coming together in that moment.
⇒Lindsay Krause
The team love and chemistry from my senior year. Any person watching us could see the love for the game and for each other that our team had. We have so much fire and passion for the sport and for each other that nothing was going to stop us.
⇒Shayla McCormick
After winning state this year and realizing that I just won 4 state championships in a row with my best friends, it’s pretty amazing and these girls on this team are the reason that I love volleyball and wanted to get better every day at practice.
⇒Cameron Cartwright
A game that really sticks out to me was the state semifinal game my junior year against Norris. The whole game was tough but I remember being down in the third set by quite a few points. We ended up coming back in that set and won the match but the intensity of the game and the level of play was crazy. The love that we, as a team, showed for one another is what made me realize how much I love the sport and my team.

This might sound Cheesy, but winning the Minneapolis Qualifier for club my 12s year was an amazing experience. I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to be challenged by my teammates and opponents throughout the years.

There are so many moments to choose from. My favorite moment was when we went down to Kansas City because we got to travel together and play some really good teams.
Your support staff
⇒Allie Gray
Thank you guys for always having a vision for me to do great things. Your attention to detail to challenge me and pull me out of my comfort zone has allowed me to be the player and person I am today.
⇒Lindsay Krause
Thank you to any person who has ever put in the effort to make me a better person. Everything that anyone has ever taught me on the court has also taught me to be an all-around good person.
⇒Shayla McCormick
Thank you! All of the coaches, fans, teammates, friends, and my family. They are all amazing and I could not have gotten to where I am without them.
⇒Cameron Cartwright
Skyhawk Nation is who we play for. We love the atmosphere that they create and the love that they show us. They really are like family to us and not having a majority of our fans at our games this season was very different but their energy and love for us at the State tournament made up for it all.

What will you miss about high school volleyball?
⇒Allie Gray
I will forever miss playing with some of my best friends from school. Being able to share the experience of going to school at Skutt and also playing volleyball here will never compare to anything else.
⇒Lindsay Krause
I will miss all of my teammates that I will never get to play with again. So many girls in this senior class it has been like nothing else to play with and I will miss them so much.
⇒Shayla McCormick
Getting to see my friends every day and just playing with them. There is truly nothing like scvb and all the friendships that I have formed over the last four years. To be able to be a part of something so special like that is awesome.
⇒Cameron Cartwright
I can genuinely say that I have met my best friends through Skutt Catholic Volleyball and that is has been the happiest and most joyful experience I’ve ever had. Not only am I going to miss high school volleyball but this will be the end of my volleyball career as a whole. I cannot give enough thanks to this sport and to the people I’ve met through it. I will miss the feeling of playing with “Skutt” across my chest because it truly is incomparable to any other feeling. Roll Hawks Forever.

A NOTE ABOUT RANKINGS
Player rankings are a constant work in progress, especially with athletes at the 15s and 16s level. Some players hit their stride at different times and for others, it’s a matter of getting their chance whether it’s high school or club. We seek feedback from coaches around the state and are always looking to add names as well as update information. For the players, your ranking does not define you. This is a list that is a resource for schools, it’s fun to see athletes from across the state, and is a great way to connect players with each other as well as coaches throughout the country.
