Here’s a look at some players that have improved their position over the last year.
Emily Struckmeyer Emily Struckmeyer 6'1" | MB Lowell | 2022 State MI , MB Lowell/FaR Out
Struckmeyer has improved her position in each of the two rankings updates. This time around she moved from 21st up to 15th. The 6’0” middle took major strides forward last prep season. She hit over .300 while having an All-State season for the D1 finalist. Her finishing ability has always been solid, but her court vision and defensive play continue to improve each week.
Sophia Treder Sophia Treder 6'0" | OH Marian | 2022 State MI , OH Marian/Michigan Elite
Treder moved from 22 to 17 in the latest rankings following a great year of play. She was a key piece to Marian’s Division 1 championship this prep season, as she saw a big increase in production and opportunities. Treder has a great all-around game, showing the ability to finish at the net while proving to be a consistent passer and server.
Madison Gebhardt Madison Gebhardt 6'3" | OH Flint Powers CC | 2022 State MI , OH Powers Catholic/Michigan Elite
Nobody has made a bigger climb up the rankings than Gebhardt. The 6’2” outside from Powers Catholic has jumped up 20 spots in the rankings to No. 18. Gebhardt is a complete player and can really explode at the net. She’s a finisher with multiple shots in her arsenal. Defensively, she moves well to the ball and is willing to put her body on the line to make plays.
Bianca Giglio Bianca Giglio 5'10" | RS Notre Dame Prep | 2022 State MI , OH Notre Dame Prep/Legacy
Giglio moved up six spots in our latest rankings and has moved up 17 over the last 18 months to No. 19. Giglio really came into her own over the last year thanks to improved confidence on the floor. A battle-tested fall season forced Giglio to have to step up and she did in a big way. Giglio had an All-State prep season for the D2 semifinalist, really showing her hitting ability in the process. As her passing and defensive play improves, Giglio is sure to become a valuable college asset.
Ava M Young Ava M Young 6'0" | MB Rockford | 2022 State MI , MB Rockford/FaR Out
Young has moved up seven spots to No. 20. The 6’0” middle is a real force with her blocking and able to get a lot of touches on opposing attacks. As she continues to work on her footwork and finishing ability, Young can move further up the list.
