Like the temperatures outside, the volleyball is getting HOT!

Columbus was on fire this weekend with some of the best teams in country coming together for one last tune up before we hit the road for nationals!

The 17 Open was on fire with some of the biggest attackers in the nation going head to head. From the likes of [player_tooltip player_id="66319" first="Harper" last="Murray"] to [player_tooltip player_id="106665" first="Nya" last="Bunton"] and [player_tooltip player_id="66328" first="Ava" last="Sarafa"], the big names of tomorrow were on tap to throw down.

Here are some of the best outside attackers from Summerfest!

[player_tooltip player_id="66319" first="Harper" last="Murray"] - 6’2 OH - Legacy

As stated, some of the best in the country were in attendance and [player_tooltip player_id="66319" first="Harper" last="Murray"] was here, doing [player_tooltip player_id="66319" first="Harper" last="Murray"] things. She’s on the final stretch of her club playing days before she takes her talents to Lincoln, Nebraska, and she gives a show every time. Murray lead Legacy to the open title with some top notch performances along the way.

[player_tooltip player_id="111875" first="Olivia" last="Fish"] - 6’3 OH - KIVA

KIVA is stacked with some talent on the pins and [player_tooltip player_id="111875" first="Olivia" last="Fish"] was at peak performance in Columbus. She’s a big player with a lot of physicality in her play, whether she’s attacking or blocking, she’s tough to contend with. Fish also held up very well in the reception line.

[player_tooltip player_id="106668" first="Sydney" last="Helmers"] - 6’5 OH - KIVA

Last time I saw this player at Rock N Rumble, she was sidelined with injury. Healthy and seemingly at full form, [player_tooltip player_id="106668" first="Sydney" last="Helmers"] was causing chaos for defenders all weekend long. The Texas commit really knows how to bring the heat with her swings and she demolish a block with ease.

[player_tooltip player_id="181097" first="Safi" last="Hampton"] - 6’1 OH - Metro

I was excited to see this one back in action this weekend. Last time I saw [player_tooltip player_id="181097" first="Safi" last="Hampton"] was Rock N Rumble back in January and she’s only gotten better. Hampton is a high flying, physical attacker at the net with a huge Yossiana Pressley aura to her game. And she was really put to work this weekend at Summerfest.

[player_tooltip player_id="141722" first="Audrey" last="Armbruster"] - 6’0 OPP/S - Elevation

Armrbuster? More like arm buster! [player_tooltip player_id="141722" first="Audrey" last="Armbruster"] was leaving no prisoners last weekend at Summerfest. This setter/hitter hybrid was really quite the talent to behold. Her attacking on the right side was top notch and she could really bring the heat.

[player_tooltip player_id="141693" first="Nicole" last="Sargent"] - 6’1 OH - Elevation

Another heavy bopper from Elevation, [player_tooltip player_id="141693" first="Nicole" last="Sargent"] was the perfect outlet to get elevation out of sticky situations off the net. She’s aggressive on and off the net and knew the perfect shot to use when her team needed a side-out.

[player_tooltip player_id="141701" first="Lauryn" last="Bowie"] - 6’2 OPP - Mintonette

This Mintonette teams have a lot of big, heavy arms on the pins, [player_tooltip player_id="141701" first="Lauryn" last="Bowie"] was their big ace on the right side. A big approach on the right side, Bowie could bring the hammer down with some impressive angles. The Virginia commit was also huge on the blocking side throughout the weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id="114523" first="Ella" last="Durham"] - 6’3 OH - Mintonette

Taking her talents to the beaches of San Diego in 2023, Gabri[player_tooltip player_id="114523" first="Ella" last="Durham"] is going to be a big time player for the Terero’s. A huge wing span and a great fluid swing, Durham was giving teams all of the business throughout the weekend and scoring at a high rate.

[player_tooltip player_id="141696" first="Ava" last="Hoying"] - 6’0 OH - Mintonette

If Durham and Bowie weren’t enough, throw it up to [player_tooltip player_id="141696" first="Ava" last="Hoying"] and good luck with trying to defend this team. Hoying is the steady eddy for Mintonette, playing all six rotations at a superb level. She can pass and play defense very well and can run a variety of attacks at the net or through the back row.

[player_tooltip player_id="66316" first="Remi" last="Madison"] - 5’11 OH - Michigan Elite

This team was a mere two points away from taking down the eventual champs in Legacy and a huge reason was the play of [player_tooltip player_id="66316" first="Remi" last="Madison"]. Madison had a great weekend overall, but she really wanted to make a statement on Sunday. She can soar through the air and has one of the fastest arm swings I have ever seen at this level.

[player_tooltip player_id="98994" first="Sarah" last="Gooch"] - 6’1 OH- Top Select

Top Select easily proved this weekend their worth of that coveted USAV Open bid. Going 3-0 on day one with a tough power pool, [player_tooltip player_id="98994" first="Sarah" last="Gooch"] was money for Top Select. Her overall play was very steady and timely. Unafraid for the big swings and perfect timing for the off-speed, Gooch was on top of her game.

Carissa Michel - 5’11 OPP- Top Select

The offensive dynamo the team needed last weekend, Carissa Michel was virtually unstoppable. A smaller right side with massive hops, Michel was burning a lot of defenses. Her connection with setter Nayelis Cabello was so fun to watch and makes for a dangerous pair to see coming into the nationals season.

[player_tooltip player_id="111503" first="Helen" last="Frankovich"] - 6’2 OPP - Paramount

I didn’t catch much of this Paramount team, but what I did see was a whole lot of [player_tooltip player_id="111503" first="Helen" last="Frankovich"]. You can easily say this is the team’s go-to weapon because not many teams had an answer for her on the right pin. She has a variety of hard-driven shots on the right pin and can bring it on the D ball as well.

https://x.com/LineShotVBall/status/1533400612846637056?s=20&t=MZiUh0xm4Mk_J3oTc3uHRw

[player_tooltip player_id="108759" first="Raegan" last="Lantz"]- 5’11 OH - MVA

This is a player with a lot of potential and a huge upside if she continues her trajectory. I haven’t seen [player_tooltip player_id="108759" first="Raegan" last="Lantz"] since January and I think she’s easily improved her vertical by a good inch or two. Super springy with a bombing swing, Lantz solidified herself as the main gun for MVA in a top 20 finishing performance.
