There might be some big travel involved just for practice, but here are some of the standouts from the past club year who made it work!
Libero| Ashton McMahon| NCWVBC (2023) The Central Washington University commit knows how to take charge of a back row defensively. McMahon has great command of the defense and throws herself to the floor covering her hitters and poking up tips and shots from opposing hitters. She easily covers seams in both directions in serve receive and can adjust her angle late on hard-to-return floaters. A coach’s kid with an intense winning mentality.
Outside| Alexandra “Sasha” Dandridge| NCWVBC (2024) It might be tough to rip this rising junior away from the beach game, she has been working her craft in sunny Chelan for years now. Indoors she is a relentless outside hitter with a high contact point, a crushing line shot, and a growing variety of cut shots to the angle. Solid in serve receive, Dandridge stands out from the service line as well with a hard float she keeps in the seams and deep.
Middle| Alana Marrs| CRU 16 (2025) Keep an eye on Marrs, she is a potential big-time recruit with the prerequisite size to play at a Power Five. She has played outside as well, so it’s not all just about length for the rising Sophomore from Ellensburg. However, It is intimidating for opponents when they see the 6’4 block coming at them with a deep press over the net. She has a good foundation built with her footwork, and as the year went on she began to bring a quicker and more confident arm swing as well.
Setter| Taylor Kieser| CRU 18| (2023) The Selah star performer kept up her stellar work during the club season with CRU out of Ellensburg. A lefty who can turn and create a kill opportunity, she keeps opponents honest at all times. Her strength and high hands let her flick the ball out easily to the outside and on a rope when she needs to set a fast tempo. Kieser is a winner who will help keep Corban University challenging for league titles for the foreseeable future in Salem.
Setter| Lexi Barbee| No Limits VB 18| (2023) This cool, collected setter earned All-State honors for West Valley (Yakima), then stayed in Yakima playing and excelling for No Limits during the club season. She has great location on her sets and calm hands, with a refined ability to find her hitters in a mismatch. Barbee will be leading the way again during the school season, delivering the goods for a team looking to return to the state tournament.
