Get ready for the Region 2 line up of setters to watch. This time we are in the Houston area, one of the up and coming regions for volleyball for both club and high school. Take a look below at a few setters who had a great 2021 season, and who we expect to carry over this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id="203987" first="Caelyn" last="Dumas"] - Paetow High School - Sophomore

[player_tooltip player_id="203987" first="Caelyn" last="Dumas"] is first on our list of returning varsity setters. Caelyn is part of an almost brand new Paetow program, only being active since 2017. Last season Caelyn put up 351 assists as a freshman on varsity. This off-season she played for [program_tooltip program_id='431166' first='Houston' last='Juniors'] and played very well at GJNC's where she made the 15 USA All-Tournament Team. She plays with a lot of intensity and passion. She has a lot of range, and can get to balls that seem impossible for others. Paetow moves into a new district this season, look for Caelyn to make an immediate impact.

[player_tooltip player_id="177531" first="Kinslee" last="Smith"]- Klein High School - Junior

[player_tooltip player_id="177531" first="Kinslee" last="Smith"] was undoubtedly one of the best sophomores in the state of Texas last fall. Posting over 1200 assists in her first year as a varsity setter, Kinslee made a huge impact for Klein. She was able to jump into a very fast offense, that just the year before was in the state championship game. She is an all around athlete who can do more than just set. In the off-season, she played for HJV and hit as well as played back row defense. This improvement in her game will be noticeable when the post-season rolls around.

[player_tooltip player_id="177530" first="Reagan" last="Aponte"] - Bryan Rudder High School - Junior

[player_tooltip player_id="177530" first="Reagan" last="Aponte"] is one of the premier setters in the Brazos Valley region. Last year, she came away with over 1,100 assists for the season. She spent her time in the spring playing for [program_tooltip program_id='431076' first='Brazos' last='Valley Juniors']. Not only does she set well, but she also plays really good defense. In 2021, she had 284 digs on the season. Her biggest challenge in the fall will be competing in the gauntlet that is district 21-5A. She will need to bring her leadership and passion onto the court this fall.

Grace Krohn - Cy Creek - Senior

Grace Krohn played for a darkhorse Cypress Creek team last year. She helped them snag the 4th place position in that district and pick up a Bi-District win. From last season to this summer, she has improved her speed, tempo, and footwork to the ball while playing up an age level for Willowbrook 18's. Cypress Creek will benefit from her playing experience this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id="186231" first="Anna" last="Blaine"] - Klein Collins High School - Junior

[player_tooltip player_id="186231" first="Anna" last="Blaine"] picked up 890 assists last season for Klein Collins. As a sophomore, she picked up some valuable playtime on a team with a lot of seniors. This offseason she has increased her intensity, as well as taking on more responsibility running a 5-1 for her club team Texas Legacy. She will have a lot of competition at the setting position come August 1st, but her size and block standing at 6'1 will give her an advantage.
