So rankings are very subjective and different place to place, I learned that when doing my own all-county picks, but I will say, being 6 for pins in this area should probably be signed SOMEWHERE by now. Won player of the year in 6B in VA. Went to watch some video and realized I’ve actually watched her this season, but just assumed she was already committed cause she’s legit. She’s what a lot of the young OH kids want to be when they grow up. I did some deep video research, and I’ll see her in person soon again. I didn’t get to see a lot of defensive highlights, so I’m going to guess she only plays at the net, nothing wrong with that, and honestly, I saw a pass or two and a bunch of blocks, so there’s some skill there, too. Schools with an open 2026 slot and some need at the net should be on the phone like now; she’s not going to last long. https://www.hudl.com/profile/17248647/Soleil-Rancourt

Soleil went from 26-19 in the rankings, not a big jump but when you are already ranked high a seven point swing is significant. She earned Player of the year honors in the Cedar District as well as Region 6b for leading Patriot to an appearance in the class 6 state championship. Ultimately, they lost in the first round to eventual champion West Springfield.
Soleil led the team in kills. She also played six rotations, leading the team in serve receptions while also finishing third in digs. Last year she played for Metro 17, a team that finished third in Nationals in the Open Division. Unfortunately, Soleil found herself stuck behind pin hitters who have committed to Baylor, Kentucky, Tennessee and Marquette. With her current ranking she is now the second highest ranked player who has yet to commit.
It is unclear if Soleil will return to Metro to play this club season. With all the departures playing time should be much easier.

She plays for the Metro team that placed third in the Open Division at Junior Nationals. Unfortunately, that team is stacked with pin hitters that her ability to find playing time is limited. She is my definition of a diamond in the rough.
For Patriot she plays six rotations but at 6’2″ she sometimes struggles on getting to the short serves. The advantage of having her back row is to have her offense available in six rotations. Though she may not get a lot of playing time for Metro she is clearly the top hitter for Patriot. She leads the team in kills and sits second in blocks.
Patriot should compete for the Class 6 state championship this year.
