About Grace

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like fast paced game play, shoot sets and running a fast middle. In high school I primarily play a 5-1 setter rotation, but in club season I run a 6-2 and hit right side. I love to dive and fly across the floor for balls. My passing percentage on serve receive is routinely over 2.0. My favorite passing drill is to pass off the pitching machine and speed the ball up to over 45 miles per hour.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a captain on the Roseburg High School team and on my club volleyball team. I am a positive personality on the court and with my team. I enjoy bringing the team together. I like to lead by example and leave the outside world outside of the gym. When I am in the gym, I am in it to win it with every drill. I like to lift weights, go to crossfit and study. I am interested in medicine.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am the captain of my club team and RHS volleyball team. I am involved in Future Business Leaders of America, LINK crew (leadership at RHS), and volunteer coaching. For the past four years I have showcased my ceramics art at local art shows.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As captain, I enjoy being the glue that holds my team together. I get along with everyone on my teams and use humor to improve stressful situations. I show up early and stay late. On time is ten minutes late in my book. When we leave the bus or the gym I am the last one off to make sure we leave our area equal or nicer to what it was when we were playing.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Any challenges I have faced are minimal to what so many families experience. I try to be empathetic and volunteer extra because others may not be able to step in and help.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with a medicine or nursing program as I am considering becoming a nurse practitioner.
