Azavedo has fully rehabbed from a knee injury that kept her off the court for a good chunk of her 8th-grade club season and freshman-year high school season. However, watching her play it is clear she didn’t skip a beat. She anchored the Jesuit Crusaders’ back row as their libero and helped them achieve a second-place finish in the 6A State tournament. Azavedo is a digging machine, showcasing no fear and an insanely fast reaction time. The numbers speak for themselves; with 283 digs on the season it is no question Azavedo is one of the best defensive specialists in the State from the class of 2025.
Hill has all the makings to be a complete six-rotation outside hitter. She is tall, athletic, quick, and controlled on the court. With a high reach on the ball, she is terminal from anywhere on the court. Playing behind Kalista Lukovich Kalista Lukovich 6'0" | OH Nelson | 2023 State OR and Madi Andrews this past high school season for Nelson, she did not secure a true starting spot but was the first pulled from the bench when any attacker was struggling given her versatility. Hill is most definitely an athlete to watch over the coming seasons.
Rose has skyrocketed in terms of improvement over the past three years. Entering her freshman season, she flew under the radar. However, tall, athletic and physical, she worked hard during the off-season training with OJVA 16-4 and improved leaps and bounds. She just came off an outstanding sophomore high school season with St. Paul, being named to the Casco Second Team All-League and 1A Second Team All-State.
To see an athlete like Hyland quickly transition to the sport and in just a year’s time launch herself to the top of the class in a matter of months is nothing short of impressive. She was a high-level gymnast until her 8th-grade year when she made the switch to volleyball. Her sheer athleticism is noticeable on the court and given how quickly she has improved in such a short amount of time, Hyland is definitely a player to watch from the class of 2025.
Highlights
Crawford had a breakout high school season with Pleasant Hill. As the only true setter on the roster, she ran the court with confidence. She was a major factor in their success this season, helping the Billies maintain the #2 seed in 3A until the State tournament, where they were knocked off by #15 Siuslaw in a thrilling 5-set match. Getting training from Webfoot Jrs on their 16-1 team this club season, it’ll be exciting to see just how much Crawford improves.
Highlights
Sinai has shown some major improvement this past year. After finishing her JV season at Westview, two major injuries and the team called on Sinai to step up. She stepped up majorly in Westview’s run at State, starting in the middle for the Wildcats. She puts up a huge block and her ability to read the attack has gotten better and better.
Highlights
Carroll is brand new to the Oregon volleyball scene having moved to here from California before high school season. However, she made an impression early on, making her way onto the varsity team at powerhouse Jesuit High School. The team placed 2nd place at the 6A State tournament. Carroll showcases a lot of potential and has lots of good qualities going for her already. She is tall, athletic, and quick. She recently made the 16-1 team at Athena, so it will be exciting to see how she progresses over club season.
Highlights
Snow shouldered a larger offensive load this season with Crater High School and helped the team achieve success through the postseason, finishing 5th in the 5A State tournament. She is fast in the middle and does a good job turning the ball to mix up angles and shots. She is quick laterally and is able to seal with the pins consistently to put up a solid block.
Lane was a major contributor this high school season for Siuslaw. Playing primarily in the middle she took a bulk of sets dishes to her during the three rotations she was at the net. She is athletic and aggressive, with an impressive vertical jump. Her arm swing is fast and powerful, she times her approach well and consistently gets on top of the ball.
Rapp is another competitive gymnast turned stellar volleyball player. A varsity starter for McMinnville High School, she was actually the youngest player on the team. However, she was voted team captain, which speaks to the maturity and leadership she already displays on the court. She showcases versatility as well, transitioning between a six-rotation outside hitter and a libero depending on the team’s needs.
Highlights
Ipsen is an athletic, utility player with the ability to step in as a defensive specialist or an attacker. During high school season with Roseburg, she saw court time as a serving specialist primarily. However, with 5 seniors graduating, it is safe to assume she will have a larger load next season. She will be playing for Webfoot 16-1 this season and it will be interesting to see where she is utilized.
Sweet showcases steady yet powerful play as a versatile attacker. A leftie, she excels on the right pin, however, can easily transition to the middle if needed. She played the bulk of her last club season with G3 in the middle. During high school season, she primarily played on the right pin for Corvallis.
