Carlie stood out as the primary offensive weapon for a very good Massaponax team, hitting from both the back row and front row. Class 5D selected her as their player of the year for the Region in the State playoffs. She was also voted to the first team Class 5 State team. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='209177' first='Paige' last='Meins'] </strong>S (Robinson) - What impressed me most about her play was her hustle. She chased after balls. Voted to the first team Patriot Division after orchestrating the Ram offense to the top of the standings while setting a 5/1. She controls the offense. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='181188' first='Jade' last='Brooks'] </strong>MB (Oakton) - This 6'0" middle has a great attitude on the court. She hits the quicks well and can block from pin to pin. The Concorde District voted her to their first team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='181101' first='Daniella' last='Suarez']</strong> OH (Holy Cross) - The 5'11" outside played under the shadow of [player_tooltip player_id='180288' first='Emerson' last='Sellman'], perhaps the top hitter from this area. Daniella finished second on her team in kills and second in digs. The WCAC selected her to the second team while she led Holy Cross to the top spot in the standings. They eventually lost to Bishop O'Connell in the finals of the playoffs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='246932' first='Maeson' last='Peterson'] </strong>OH (Kellam) - At 6'1" she led her team in kills, finishing with an impressive .407 hitting percentage. Maeson stood out as the key offensive contributor for Kellam to advance to the semi-finals of the Class 6 State championship. Kellam restricted her to three rotations in the game I watched.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='181209' first='Kennedy' last='Seekford'] </strong>(Dominion) - Dominion surprised a number of people by advancing to the semi-finals of the Class 4 State championship, before eventually losing to the State Champion James Wood. Kennedy normally plays libero for travel but for Dominion she hit outside. Despite standing 5'6" she finished second on the team in kills. Her veteran presence allowed the younger players to thrive in the playoffs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='231672' first='Annalie' last='McCarthy'] MB (Alexandria City) - Her effective play in the middle was a key factor for Alexandria City winning the Class 6 State championship. During the season she led her team in blocks and was third in kills. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='233446' first='Madison' last='Livengood'] MB (Grafton) - This 5'10" middle was a key cog in the Grafton Class 4 playoff march. She led her team in blocks, ranked second in aces and third in kills. Her offensive presence drew up the middle block, providing better opportunities for the outsides to hit against a single block. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='244167' first='Alina' last='D'Andrade'] S (Elizabeth Seton) - She was voted to the first team of the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC), a very competitive conference for volleyball. I loved her attitude on the court and her hands were magic for the offense. If she had a few more weapons she could have accomplished a lot more for Seton. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
