The Iowa Top 250 Expo featured plenty of dynamic attackers, and we’ve already featured several of the event’s frontcourt standouts. But every attacker needs quality sets to thrive, and these setters helped pave the way for showcase success.
Pickett has done a little bit of everything during her prep career with West Branch. She has experience running the offense as a setter, but she also stepped up to shoulder a big attacking role in this year’s lineup. The multi-talented athlete performed admirably in this role, as Pickett hit over .200 and was second on the team in kills this fall. What will next year hold for the rising senior?
It was no surprise to see Dockendorff performing well at last weekend’s showcase. She dished the ball well with IPVA this spring, and that translated into another great showing for this Prep Dig Expo veteran. Put Dockendorff on your radar for upcoming 17s competition in the Iowa Region.

Tri-Center High School has quite a multi-year leader at the setter spot. Wingert was one of Iowa’s most productive sophomore setters this fall, piling up over eight assists per set. She also supplemented her distribution with some deceptive attacks that forced opposing blockers to respect Wingert as a frontcourt threat. All these skills came to the forefront in Des Moines last weekend.

Schmadeke has a combination of physicality and finesse that makes her an ideal setter-opposite. She has experience in that exact role with Waterloo West, where Schmadeke piled up stats in just about every category imaginable. Six Pack will be looking for a similar impact when we turn the calendar to 2023.

The Iowa Top 250 Expo was not my first chance to see Rogers in action, but it was a stark reminder of her all-around skills at the setter spot. Rogers made a huge impression with Six Pack this spring as her team scored some outstanding late-season upsets and put the Iowa club on the map in the Open division. 2023 could be even better for the Dowling prep star.

Few Iowa sophomores got as much on-court work as Salvo. The South Hardin athlete notched nearly 500 assists in her setting role, but she also compiled more than 500 attack attempts in her frontcourt hitting role. Such wide-ranging contributions are uncommon for underclassman, but that hasn’t ever deterred Salvo.

Like Rogers, Hardersen has been on my radar for a while. Some of her best moments have come on the club stage with Iowa PowerPlex, where she has demonstrated that she can take on responsibilities as a go-to attacker in addition to her setting.

Bring on the 2026s. Cheeseman will have a chance to make a year-round impact with both Ankeny Centennial and Club Ignit Select , two groups that have seen their share of successful setters. This freshman’s performance at our expo was a good start.
Cedar Falls is another history-rich volleyball program with a 2026 setter who is ready to make her mark. Bakula showcased her setting prowess and her defensive skills at last weekend’s expo, setting the stage for a fascinating club season with Six Pack next year.
