Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Columbus Lakeview is another consistent volleyball dynasty looking to restore order in this year’s postseason. Rowe’s unstoppable offense has put the Vikings back on course with an 18-8 record and a No. 8 ranking in the wildcard standings. Lakeview’s star attacker is putting down a team-best 3.3 kills per set while also leading the efficiency charts with a 0.334 average. Her native position is middle blocker, but Rowe has also proven her aptitude on the pin to get as many swings as possible. We could have some serious central Nebraska representation in Lincoln this November.

We’ll travel farther west to discuss another of VCN 16 Elite’s reliable middle blockers. Rowe had her big moment as 16 Elite clinched a Nationals spot through the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament. She stepped in and carried a heavy offensive burden–a trend that continued in Las Vegas. Rowe thrives in the M1 spot and has grown more confident attacking off of one foot. Of course, she also brings experience as a right-side hitter who can terminate from the pin. Regardless of position, this Columbus Lakeview product brings the all-around skills to be a force in the VCNebraska gym.

We’ve had more time to marvel at Rowe’s heroic performance at the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament. VCNebraska 16 Elite faced some unfortunate injuries in one of the biggest events of the year, but Rowe was determined to make up for the bad luck. She was challenged with major responsibilities at middle blocker and stepped up when 16 Elite needed it most. Rowe killed balls on the slide, sealed blocks from pin to pin, and provided much-needed stability along the net. Now, VCNebraska 16 Elite can look ahead to GJNC.

Rowe was crucial to VCNebraska 16 Elite’s comeback bid at the Bid Tourney. She spread the court with her lateral quickness and was the go-to option on the slide. The Columbus native is good at working off hands, an underappreciated skill for middle blockers. GJNC will bring another chance in the spotlight for Rowe and her 16 Elite squad.

Rowe joins Stehlik to form a lethal combination for VCNebraska 16 Elite. We’ve seen a lot of VCN middle blockers thrive on the ‘gap’ set away from the setter, and Rowe is the next one in line. Her aptitude on this route give opposing blockers a lot of trouble. Rowe will also put up a blocking clinic of her own to bolster 16 Elite’s stingy defense. Columbus Lakeview is bringing an emerging star into the club spotlight.

While we’re on the topic of small-town prep stars, let’s give a shoutout to Columbus Lakeview’s star middle blocker. Rowe is the kind of athlete who can thrive at either M1 or M2. VCNebraska loves to run ‘gap’ plays away from the setter, and Rowe is already finding her stride in this tough attacking pattern. Moreover, her tough serve grants 16 Elite another opportunity to run points in Rotation 6. Rowe and her team have so much still to gain as we hit the midseason grind.

Rowe garnered recent mention for her high school accomplishments with Columbus Lakeview, but the narrative is about to evolve with VCNebraska . The central Nebraska standout is preparing to compete with VCN’s top 16s group. This comes after Rowe racked up 3.2 kills per set on a 0.285 clip. Columbus Lakeview has made some postseason noise in recent years, and Rowe can help get the Vikings back in that position. She exploded onto our radar this season with over three kills per set on an equally notable 0.285 hitting efficiency. This is a huge breakout for Rowe, who seized the moment after only seeing four sets of action as a freshman. Now, one of C1’s most efficient hitters will hope to Lakeview’s postseason presence.
