Continue ReadingA few weekends ago some awesome players gathered under one roof in Austin and went into battle in impressive fashion. Nothing marks the true start of the season for me like the Tour of Texas does. We are blessed to have some of the best talent in the nation in our wonderful state. It is truly a site to see when the best decide to put their talent to the test so early in the season against other top teams and see where they stand and what they need to work on for qualifier season later on in the year. Iron truly does sharpen iron when this occurs and Prep Dig was lucky enough to see it in person. What will follow is a series of articles of individual players who stood out while competing at a high level. Let’s meet a few of the standouts.
Camille Perry Camille Perry 6'3" | MB Lone Star Frisco TX | 2026 State TX [2026] 6-2 Middle (HS: Lone Star/Club: Drive Nation/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Camille is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet. She plays high school volleyball for Lone Star High School and is playing club volleyball for Drive Nation. I watched in awe when this young lady got her head above the net when blocking. She pressed over hard and stuff blocked a left side hitter and I was hooked. I sat down immediately and started taking notes. What I loved the most was just how hard of an approach she was taking with each attempt. If she keeps this up, she will be a formidable middle for the foreseeable future. She was able to throttle a few balls that had many spectators shaking their heads in disbelief. The most impressive aspect about her attacks were that she was able to turn on the ball around the block like a seasoned veteran middle. I will for sure keep my eye on her as I think she has so much potential in the position. She is definitely a name to know on the recruiting trail.
Britton Finley Britton Finley 6'2" | OH Frisco Memorial | 2025 State #109 Nation TX [2025] 6-2 Outside (HS: Frisco Memorial/Club: Madfrog ‘ last=”]/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Miss Finley is currently an unranked prospect according to the 2025 Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that will definitely change once I update them in a few weeks. She is a flat out stud left side attacker that plays for Frisco Memorial High School and also club for the famed Madfrog ‘ last=”] program. We have covered Miss Finley quite a few times since we noticed her last year at one of our showcases. There are hitters who can score and then there are hitters who hit the ball so hard that it feels like they should be worth multiple points. Enter Britton Finley Britton Finley 6'2" | OH Frisco Memorial | 2025 State #109 Nation TX . I am a huge fan of this young lady and she has proven that she belongs in the conversation when people discuss best hitters in the age group. Britt’s footwork is next level already at such a young age. I love watching her flare out to her touch point because she does it with clear intentions to hammer the set if it comes her way. While everyone will admire and gawk at her power, there is a part of her game that I love the most. Her ball control in serve receive is one aspect that gets overlooked because of how special her arm is. She is as steady as they come in the back row and is considered a six rotation outside who can pass nails and keep her team in system. Keep her name on your short list if you want someone who can bang on the pins.
Keoni Williams Keoni Williams 6'4" | MB Boswell | 2026 State TX [2026] 6-2 Middle (HS: Boswell/Club: Dallas Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Keoni is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that will change in a few weeks when I update them. Miss Williams plays at Boswell High School and also for the amazing Dallas Skyline club program. This class is littered with solid middles who can fly, but Keoni is making a huge push for tops of the list in the position with what I saw at the Tour. Her armpits were at the top of the tape of the net when she was blocking and put everyone on notice. She had tremendous power on quick attacks but I was even more impressed when her squad ran her on a high tempo route out of serve receive. Not many players can change tempo mid-game so easily but Miss Williams was able to and it helped her team score when they needed a lift. I also loved how she added some serious pop with a very fast wrist snap on the ball. Her potential is sky high like her vertical and we think every recruiter should have her name down on their list.
