Super Setters: Emerald City Classic Day 2

Competing in the State track and field championships the day prior, she came to ECC Sunday ready to play. She was disciplined at getting her feet set and her hands on the ball. She has added the jump set to her tool box and does a good job staying neutral to hide her set location. She was seen setting one match, playing right back defense while [player_tooltip player_id='161158' first='Kamden' last='Mitchell'] set another, and sporting the libero jersey the next. She was super speedy, getting her hands on every ball she could run down. Her location accuracy was impressive, putting up ball after ball for the attackers. Being their primary setter, she worked tirelessly for the team, executing a 5-1. Her touch on the ball is soft, quick, and clean. She established her middles early on and kept feeding them throughout the match. Running a 5-1, her setting abilities were critical in the team's ability to compete in 18 Open. She oozed athleticism and had a soft touch on the ball. With their primary setter Tristyn Ervin moving to Las Vegas, Fareti-Tuato'o filled in that hole, executing a 6-2. She stayed in to attack on the right side. With standout [player_tooltip player_id='161157' first='Mia' last='Hunt'] currently out with injury, all eyes were on McGhee. She ran a 5-1 across all days of play, and was instrumental in the teams success in 16 Open, making it to the finals. She did a good job, when the pass was way off the net, getting her feet set and squaring up to distribute the ball to the pins. She immediately stood out given her sheer athleticism. She had a soft touch on the ball and a quick release. She set against the grain to create one on one opportunities for CPA 15-1's dynamic pin hitters. Staying in to attack on the right side, she flies and has a quick arm swing. As an 8th grader on PSVBA 15-1 last year, she blew me away. This season, playing for SVA, she was that much more refined and impressive. Her competitiveness showed through, doing whatever was needed to get the ball to her hitters. Although undersized as an attacker, she absolutely flies and can hammer away to rack up kills. Running a 6-2, she was a workhorse for the CRU 16-1 team, hustling all over the court to get her hands on the ball. She played exceptional right back defense, getting low, ready to react to the attack. She also had a tough, flat, jump float serve that garnered lots of service aces and disruptions.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
