The recruiting floodgates have opened and it has been a mass-eruption of recruiting news these last weeks with the inception of June 15th.
Long awaited date for many, players, coaches and fans alike. Where will I go? What kids are my favorite teams picking up? This class is NOT disappointing anyone thus far. So far, the name of the game has been, the strength of the midwest. One of the biggest volleyball hotbeds in the country, especially for the 2025 class. There’s some big guns heading to big programs come the fall of 2025.
Let’s take a look at some of the first commits from the 2025 class.
Campbell Flynn Campbell Flynn 6'2" | S Mercy | 2025 State #4 Nation MI to Nebraska
6’2 S – Legacy
She’s been one of the biggest names in the game forever. She’s going into nationals committed and on the hunt for her second consecutive title at AAUs. Her physicality and crafty nature at the position, alongside her winning ways, gives this program a huge boost. Alongside Legacy alumni Harper Murray, Flynn could bring home another title to Nebraska.
Abby Vander Wal Abby Vander Wal 6'3" | OH Timothy Christian | 2025 State #2 Nation IL to Texas
6’4 OH – 1st Alliance
While this one surprised me slightly, it makes perfect sense. Vander Wal is your balls to the wall heavy banger on the pin. She scores with ease and for someone her size, really great ball control as well. Texas is a perrenial contender for a title and with a grab like this, another one is imminent for the latter half of the 2020s.
Madison Quest Madison Quest 6'3" | OH DSHA | 2025 State #13 Nation WI to Wisconsin
6’2 OH – MKE Sting
Wisconsin came into this class hard and is grabbing some big time names. Quest has been one of the top outside hitters in this class since last season. A big banger with a nice touch in the back court, Quest isn’t going far from home to play amongst the best.
Addison Horner Addison Horner 6'3" | S St. Francis | 2025 State #18 Nation IL to Wisconson
6’3 S – 1st Alliance
While Texas is often referred as MBU (Middle Blocker U), Wisconsin may be building up SU, Setter University, with this pick up. Horner comes in a long line of excellence at the position and Coach Sheffield’s has yet to fail him here. Horner is an absolutely huge setter. She can even double as an excellent opposite if needed.
Kristen Simon Kristen Simon 5'7" | DS/L Assumption | 2025 State #70 Nation KY to Wisconsin
5’6 L – KIVA
One thing you will get out of a KIVA kid, ball control and defense for DAYS! Simon’s commitment to the Badger program alongside Horner and Quest has already solidified one of the toughest trios in the class. Simon coming to Madison in 2025 sets her up perfectly to take over the reigns at libero almost immediately, which at this rate, may be a likely thing.
Gabriella Pitcel Gabriella Pitcel 6'1" | MB Mukwonago | 2025 State #42 Nation WI to Illinois
6’1 MB – MKE Sting
This MKE Sting team could easily become Big Ten central with how stacked they are at every position. Pitcel is a top middle recruit out of this class. Springy, fast and full of athleticism, Pitcel is coming into this Illini program and tuning up the game several notches.
Addy Tindall Addy Tindall 6'3" | OH Homestead | 2025 State #20 Nation IN to Purdue
6’3 OH – Team Pineapple
Purdue has been on a mean streak lately with their recruiting. With the commitment of Tindall coming after Eva Hudson Eva Hudson 6'1" | OH Bishop Dwenger | 2022 State #110 Nation IN (Munciana) and Chloe Chicoine Chloe Chicoine 5'9" | OH McCutcheon | 2023 State #1 Nation IN (Circle City), this marks nearly three consecutive classes of top rated commits out of the home state. Hudson and Chicoine are expected to be top dogs in the Big Ten and Tindall coming into the game in 2025, this makes an undeniable trio capable of a Division 1 championship.
Sakura Codling Sakura Codling 5'4" | DS/L Seton | 2025 State #77 Nation OH to UCLA
5’5 L – Tri-State Elite
This one is a big favorite of mine. In the new era of UCLA volleyball under Head Coach Alfee Reft, Codling is the PERFECT kid to welcome in the Reft era of Bruin Volleyball. Codling is arguably one of the toughest ‘bros in the country for the 2025 class. No ball to heavy for her. She’s at a green light at all times and this will carry UCLA a long ways back to national dominance.
Logan Bell Logan Bell 5'11" | OH Roncalli | 2025 State #24 Nation IN to Oregon
5’11 OH – Circle City
Watch out for the mighty ducks, they’re coming in hot! Logan Bell Logan Bell 5'11" | OH Roncalli | 2025 State #24 Nation IN , a top rated recruit out of Indiana is Pac-12 bound. This is an interesting commitment, I was pegging Bell to stay close to home. This is huge for Oregon. A player with the ability to flip between an outside and libero, Bell has the makings to be the next Brooke Nuneviller for this program. We all saw how well that worked out for the Ducks!
