About Savannah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a setter, I thrive under pressure and focus on setting my teammates up for success. My gameplay style is precise, strategic, and adaptable, ensuring smooth transitions and maximizing opportunities on the court. I bring a strong work ethic and a team-first mentality to every game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is rooted in resilience and adaptability, shaped by experiences as a military child and an athlete. I’m a disciplined, focused, and positive person who values hard work, teamwork, and continuous growth. Whether in sports, music, or academics, I approach challenges with determination and a drive to excel.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m a National Honor Society member and volunteer with Special Olympics and Project Earth, focusing on inclusivity and sustainability. I’ve earned the President’s Award for Academic Excellence, maintained a 4.0+ GPA, and qualified for the Texas State Orchestra in 2022 and 2023, earning a 1 rating for my cello performances.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed strong leadership skills as a volleyball team captain and first-chair cellist, where I guided and inspired my peers. Teamwork has been a central part of my journey in sports and music, teaching me how to collaborate effectively. Volunteering with Special Olympics and Project Earth has deepened my empathy and commitment to making a positive impact.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Growing up as a military child, I had to adapt to moving frequently and adjusting to new environments, cultures, and schools. One of my biggest challenges was transitioning to life in the U.S. after spending eight years in South Korea. It was a test of resilience and adaptability, but it taught me how to embrace change and thrive in unfamiliar situations.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that balances rigorous academics with a strong athletics program, particularly in volleyball. I value a close-knit community that fosters collaboration and personal growth, as well as a program that supports my career aspirations in Sports Medicine or Kinesiology.
