2026 1st Team All-Metro

College Commitment: Seattle Pacific University

Such a great overall player on the left pin, Meier is a true six-rotation outside hitter who can really bring the heat behind her swings, especially down the line. She seems to love to hit that powerful line shot outside the block and surprising the line digger. She is very aggressive with her fast arm swing but also extremely smart to know when not to swing and use the off-speed shots to find holes in the defense. Excellent in the back court as well both with ball control (passing and defense) and even being a major part of her team’s offense from behind the 10′ attack line. The Seattle Pacific commit definitely is a great pick-up for a college program.

Another player from a talented Athena team, Abbey is a good shooter. I mean that she plays a good all around OH, and offensively was a force that consistently got the ball down, vs hitting in the net or into the block. She showed good IQ hitting where the blockers didn’t have hands and used a good wing span to get the ball down. In that dodging the block skill she showed deft touch with the ball dropping tips when she saw them open. Dropping a tip for a hitter is a lot like a setter dump, in that it’s usually on the fly and a reaction to reading the court. That skill is very underrated because you see a lot of hitters tip when timing is off and they are going to put the ball in the net or block, and lets face it, that’s the game, it happens, better to tip the ball to an easy free ball than to put it in the net and give them a guaranteed point. Adaptability is a trait almost every coach wants in a hitter but doesn’t get around to asking for because they put things like vertical, height, swing strength, passing etc. before it, but that adaptability can really change games, especially when you’re going against physically strong blocking teams, and Abbey is that kind of hitter.

Meier is an energetic pin, swinging hard and moving the ball around the court. She is bouncy and sees the court well enough where she can swing through blocks and score big points.

Meier, a six rotation outside, plays fearlessly, with her intentions with her shots and her digs having the same high caliber precision. Meier made the Metro League Third Team All-League selections.

Meier saw court time as a dependable defensive specialist with good range and consistent serve receive. While she was not seen in the front row, her backcourt contributions were steady and effective, showing smart court positioning and disciplined play.

Meier holds the #10 overall spot in the 2027 PrepDig Oregon rankings. She brings exceptional stability and athleticism to the backcourt, where she anchors her team’s serve receive and defense with confidence. Her footwork and disciplined angles allow her to cover large areas of the court. On offense, Meier is an aggressive, high-IQ attacker who times her approach well and delivers powerful swings to deep corners and open space. Meier’s well-rounded skill set and court awareness make her a high-upside recruit with the tools to thrive at the next level.

Meier was one of the top pin hitters in attendance, so she stood out early on and continued to impress. With good hip/shoulder separation and a big arm swing, she was tough to stop offensively. She worked hard in transition to be readily available to attack during gameplay. Her defensive range and ability to sprawl out for a ball was noted. Also, she brought an aggressive jump float serve to the service line.

Meier has been a major component of the OJVA 15-1 Gold lineup and will be key as her team competes in the 15 National division at USAV Nationals. A six-rotation outside, Meier is terminal from both the front and back row when attacking. She showcases some impressive hang time, a quick and high snap, and smart placement decisions when she hits. Meier is also a strong blocker and serve receive passer.

Meier was a six-rotation outside hitter for OJVA 15-1 Gold and a primary offensive option. She racked up kills swinging to the deep corners. She was confident on serve recieve, and, when pulling back, kicked out quickly to become an offensive option. She brought a tough jump float to the service line as well.
