Recruiting Commitment Updates Vol 72

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It doesn't matter what level you play at when you think about the fact that NCAA research shows that only four percent of high school volleyball players play in college.&nbsp; Texas is second to none when it comes to our players earning the right to play at the next level.&nbsp; The offers for our wonderful Texas players keep coming.&nbsp; We love to see the pictures and news of these players as they are achieving their dreams.&nbsp; We are proud to announce some news from the recruiting front.&nbsp; There are three more players who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news.&nbsp; These young ladies have been hard at work during the club and high school volleyball season.&nbsp; They also have been hard at work on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools and have made their college decisions.&nbsp; Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='213351' first='Alexa' last='Gonzalez'] [2024] 5-8 Setter (HS: Dobie/Club: Houston Stellar/Verbal: Lamar University)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Alexa is currently an unranked prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.&nbsp; She plays volleyball at Dobie High School and also plays club for the Houston Stellar volleyball program. &nbsp;Miss Gonzalez is an exceptional setter who has shown her skills throughout the years we have watched.&nbsp; I love how she uses her jump set well and contacts the ball at the same point each time no matter where she is setting to.&nbsp; This kind of consistency with her technique is key to keeping the defense guessing on where she will deliver the ball.&nbsp; She is not afraid to paly front row if she has to and still keeps the offense flowing well.&nbsp; Her use of dumps during rallies is sneaky good.&nbsp; As a setter, I also love how she moves the ball around and is not predictable with the offense.&nbsp; She has a good understanding of when to go against flow to fool the defense.&nbsp; We are proud to announce that she has decided to play volleyball at Lamar University. Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing at the next level.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='519522' first='Taryn' last='Barnes'] [2024] 5-9 Outside (HS: Southlake Carroll/Club: [program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last='']/Verbal: Angelo State)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Taryn is currently ranked as the 11^th best overall prospect in the 2025 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.&nbsp; She plays volleyball at Cinco Ranch High School and club for the Houston Skyline volleyball program. &nbsp;Miss Barnes is full of extreme amounts of energy and she uses every fiber in her body to explode off of the ground and into the ball.&nbsp; This young lady generates a lot of power from her compact frame with every swing.&nbsp; I love how she creates momentum with her approach and then uses it to get as high as she possibly can with her strong takeoff.&nbsp; If any defense gives her a seam between the block, Taryn exploits it with awesome power.&nbsp; She is a true six-rotation left side attacker who excels in serve receive and defense.&nbsp; We are proud to announce that she recently committed to playing volleyball at Angelo State.&nbsp; Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing college volleyball.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='432389' first='Maleyci' last='Soliz'] [2024] 5-3 Libero (HS: Sotomayor/Club: South Texas Volleyball Academy/Verbal: Schreiner University)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Maleyci is currently an unranked prospect in the state according to the 2024 Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays for Sotomayor High School and plays club for the South Texas Volleyball Academy program.  Miss Soliz is so much fun to watch in the back row as she dives everywhere for the ball and does not let it hit the floor.  I love her energy and how she has no regard for her body as she showcases a relentless pursuit of the ball.  You can tell when you watch her play defense that she is hyper-focused on the task at hand.  This is exactly the kind of libero that every coach dreams of.  Having a never give up attitude is exactly what she brings to the table and this will translate well to the college game.  We are proud to announce that she has committed to playing volleyball at Schreiner University.  Please help us congratulate her on realizing her dream of playing at the next level. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are just now getting caught up with all of the commitments that have happened this past year.  There are many more amazing players that are getting offers.  Stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes to see where they end up.  If you have anyone you think we should watch out for, please shoot me an email with some info at <a href="mailto:Michael@prepdig.com">Michael@prepdig.com</a>.  Also don't forget to help these kids get more exposure by sharing our stories with your friends.  Help us help them by simply retweeting on Twitter or sharing on Facebook.  Thanks for following Texas Family!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
