Nebraska has a loaded list of players who join forces in both high school and club. These “year-round teammates” can form the kind of chemistry that’s tough to slow down, and it makes the transition between the two seasons a lot easier.
We’ve been featuring a lot of dynamic duos lately, and this is another way to keep that going. Here are a few must-watch club tandems who are sticking together after representing the same high school.
Reagan Hickey Reagan Hickey 5'8" | S Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State NE & Mia Tvrdy Mia Tvrdy 6'0" | MB Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State #35 Nation NE – Premier Nebraska 18 Gold (Papillion-La Vista)
It’s a tale as old as time.
Reagan Hickey Reagan Hickey 5'8" | S Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State NE and Mia Tvrdy Mia Tvrdy 6'0" | MB Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State #35 Nation NE collectively rewrote the prep record books during their prep tenure at Papillion-La Vista. Hickey stepped onto the scene to set the offense as a freshman, while Tvrdy bolstered the Monarch offense when she moved to Papio as a sophomore. These two have an unspoken connection that shines whether they’re competing in the fall season or on the club side. It’s hard to stop an effective slide attack, and the Hickey-Tvrdy combo has scored a lot on this play.
One more club journey awaits with Premier Nebraska at the 18s level. After that, Hickey will represent Regis and Tvrdy departs for Oregon.
Zoe Rademacher Zoe Rademacher 5'6" | DS/L Norris | 2025 State NE & Kendall Cose Kendall Cose 6'0" | RS Norris | 2025 State NE – VCNebraska 17 Elite (Norris)
A former Synergy duo is sticking together with a new club. Get ready for this one.
Zoe Rademacher Zoe Rademacher 5'6" | DS/L Norris | 2025 State NE and Kendall Cose Kendall Cose 6'0" | RS Norris | 2025 State NE were steady starters this fall en route to Norris’ runner-up finish in Class B. On the club side, we were accustomed to seeing Rademacher thrive as a defensive specialist who could dig heat in the middle-back area. Cose, meanwhile, showed her versatility by roving between middle blocker and opposite.
Rademacher carved out an attacking role with Norris this fall, and she’ll likely do the same when she carries the torch to VCNebraska 17 Elite. Her range as a primary passer and a left-side attacker will offer an instant boost. We’ll also keep track of where Cose ends up in the starting rotation with so many possible combinations.
Kiera Link Kiera Link 6'1" | MB Omaha Skutt Catholic | 2025 State NE & Abbie Hagedorn Abbie Hagedorn 5'11" | RS Omaha Skutt Catholic | 2025 State NE – Nebraska ONE 17 Synergy (Omaha Skutt Catholic)
These year-round teammates are sticking together, but they’ll be donning new colors for the club season. Let’s flip the conversation we just had with Rademacher and Cose. Welcome to the Synergy crew.
It’s tough to step into the spotlight with a team that earned a podium finish in 16 Open last year. However, Kiera Link Kiera Link 6'1" | MB Omaha Skutt Catholic | 2025 State NE and Abbie Hagedorn Abbie Hagedorn 5'11" | RS Omaha Skutt Catholic | 2025 State NE are more than familiar with big stages. These two played some of their best volleyball in the final match of 2023 as Omaha Skutt Catholic clinched its ninth consecutive state title. Hagedorn was a go-to scoring outlet on the left side while Link formed an impenetrable wall in the middle.
This SkyHawk duo had previously diverged for club competition. Hagedorn was a standout for Premier Nebraska while Link competed with VCNebraska . We’re keeping the crew together this time as 17 Synergy transforms its offense. Synergy returns both of its starting left sides, so a move to the right for Hagedorn is not out of the question.
We have plenty of time to work everything out.
McKinzie Brandt McKinzie Brandt 5'7" | DS/L Fremont | 2026 State NE & Blair Boehlke Blair Boehlke 5'11" | MB Fremont | 2026 State NE – Nebraska Elite 16-1 (Fremont)
The Fremont-Nebraska Elite pipeline is still going strong.
McKinzie Brandt McKinzie Brandt 5'7" | DS/L Fremont | 2026 State NE and Blair Boehlke Blair Boehlke 5'11" | MB Fremont | 2026 State NE play two very different positions but still find a way to complement one another on the same side of the net. Brandt finished third in the Fremont dig tally this fall and helped elevate a program that is predicated on good ball control. Those quality first contacts allowed Boehlke to shine from the middle, as the sophomore attacker finished second in kills among Fremont starters.
Time to bring that strong Tiger combo to Nebraska Elite 16-1. We’ll be watching this squad closely with potential 2026 stock risers all over the roster. These two fall under that category.
Sky Miller Sky Miller 5'10" | OH Omaha Westside | 2025 State NE & Liv Odvody Liv Odvody 5'11" | MB Omaha Westside | 2025 State NE – Nebraska Elite 17-2 (Omaha Westside)
Omaha Westside just notched its third consecutive year in the Class A semifinals, so you know the Warriors bring some impressive talent to the club scene. That’s the case with Nebraska Elite 17-2, which boasts Westside representatives Sky Miller Sky Miller 5'10" | OH Omaha Westside | 2025 State NE and Liv Odvody Liv Odvody 5'11" | MB Omaha Westside | 2025 State NE in the front row.
Miller broke out during the 2023 club season as she proved to be a six-rotation asset in the Nebraska Elite gym. Her passing and floor defense took a big step forward while playing for the club’s top team in the 16s ranks. That high-level experience should pay off in 2024, and it helps to have a familiar face along the net, too. Odvody appears poised for an expanded role after stealing the spotlight at this month’s Top 250 Expo in La Vista. She brings a dose of physicality that will be rendered even more effective when she’s next to her prep teammate on the outside.
