Emery has moved into the top two of the State Rankings.  She is currently ranked as the 9^th best overall player according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings.  She plays at Torrey Pines High School and for the Wave volleyball club program.  Rising up the charts due to her impeccable technique and amazing leadership on the court, Miss Gonzales is truly one to watch.  She has every tangible and intangible asset that a championship program would want in a setter.  This year I have noticed that she not only got taller, but has total control over every aspect of her volleyball movements.  The athleticism that she has been showing off against top competition tells us that she is ready for the big time programs to come knocking on her door next month.  This gifted young lady is able to run a true five-one offense and battle at the net quite effectively if needed.  She is an offensive minded phenom who knows how to rack up points in a hurry.  I have also seen her play some exceptional defense out of right back this year and that will complete her game.  It was a no brainer to reward her accomplishments.  Please help us congratulate her on her achievement of moving up the State Ranking List.

She understands that a key block can shift momentum, while an effective dump can disrupt the defense and create scoring opportunities for her team.

Her overarching goal for every tournament is simple—win. After a strong showing at the Tour of Texas, Emery is eager to build on that momentum and help push her team to new heights at Triple Crown NIT.

Outside of the gym, Emery has been focused on gaining strength to enhance her overall performance. Just as importantly, she has been cultivating a mindset of gratitude, appreciating every opportunity to compete, grow, and elevate her game.

Emery is currently ranked as the 10^th best overall prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings.  She plays volleyball at Torrey Pines High School and plays club for the WAVE volleyball program.  She wasted no time in letting everyone in the gym know just who was in charge on the court.  Her powerful dump on the second attempt let opposing defenses know that she was a legit threat to score and this opened up plenty of opportunities for her attackers to have an advantage.  Now the opposing middle and left side blocker had to stay at home just a little bit longer to guard against her attack and it left them vulnerable to splits in the block as they closed to the outside blocker for higher tempo sets.  The confidence that Miss Gonzales showed throughout the entire tourney led me to note how strong her leading by example is.  What stood out to me while watching all fo the teams compete in this tourney is how Emery ran her middle early and often in each match.  She knows exactly what it takes to win at this level and that is scoring at multiple tempos.  Her pins are lethal for sure and she knows how to get them the ball, but the fact that she sets them up for success by first running her middle is a testament to how she is playing chess while others are playing checkers.  This high level volleyball IQ will take her very far in this sport.  All college coaches should be paying attention not only to how she delivers the ball but more importantly how she implements and attacks her plan of action with their offensive scheme.
