She plans to challenge herself by competing against the best, using the elite-level coaching to absorb as much as possible and grow in all aspects of her game. Representing California at the national level is deeply meaningful for Stella, who feels grateful to be part of such a talented group of athletes from a state known for its strong volleyball culture. Stella is currently ranked as the 11th best overall prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings.  She plays volleyball at Torrey Pines High School and plays club for the WAVE volleyball program.  Miss Delgadillo was super impressive for a few reasons.  One aspect that I love is how fast she is on time for her quick attacks.  She truly understands timing principles and is in between a zero and a one tempo almost every single attempt.  It was telling in the championship match when they ran her multiple times in a row in a given rally and each time she connected very well and was not blocked at all.  Her hitting percentage had to be well above a .500 for the matches I saw.  This kind of efficiency out of the middle will keep opposing defenses honest and not able to cheat toward their awesome outside pins.  Stella was super fast as she patrolled the net on the defensive side as well.  All in all, she proved to be a very valuable member of this team and will help to keep them at the top of this age group all season long.  The other aspect that truly impressed all that were in attendance was how she moved the ball around to both sides of the court around the opposing middle blocker that matched up with her.  Very rarely did any blocker get to touch the ball as she sliced the ball by either staying completely open with her technique or over-rotated to turn on the ball.  This young lady is dangerous and knows how to attack at a high level out of the middle.

Her disciplined press during blocks showcases her ability to effectively disrupt opponents’ attacks. Particularly impressive is her agility in swiftly setting up quality blocks by adjusting her last two steps, demonstrating her tactical skills and quick reflexes.

Beyond her skills, Stella brings a dynamic personality to the court. Having played beach volleyball since the age of 6, she thrives in environments where coaches encourage fun, energy, and vocal leadership. Stella’s vibrant presence extends beyond the game, as evidenced by her love for pepperoni pizza and the strong bonds she shares with her brothers, who motivate and support her.

At Torrey Pines High School, Stella is poised to make a significant impact. After playing JV, she is determined to make her varsity team this year with renewed determination.
