Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Premier Nebraska 17 Black has built enviable length and depth on the right pin. Huff is an indispensable part of that equation and has embraced a leadership role with her new-look squad. Even with 17 Black rolling out new faces in this year’s lineup, Huff has maintained the momentum she established with Elkhorn North last fall. She thrives in the combination plays and crossing patterns that have defined 17 Black’s offense, and that cohesion will keep building as Huff takes on future qualifiers.

Huff was a perfect fit for this year’s Elkhorn North lineup. She set a stone wall on the edge with her long, physical stature at the opposite position. We’ve always known about her potential as a wing blocker, and she provided it again with a four-block performance in the championship match against Norris. However, Huff has continuously progressed as an attacker and hit over 0.312 in the fall finale. Premier Nebraska is eager to welcome her back to the gym this winter.

Don’t forget about the stacked group of Class B contenders who will mix it up with the Class A powerhouses. Huff is built for any level of competition and is fresh off a podium climb with Premier Nebraska 16 Black at USAV Nationals. On the prep side, Elkhorn North opened its season with a rousing sweep over crosstown rival Elkhorn. Huff contributed on the right side with three kills and four blocks, and we expect her averages to rise after this tournament trip.

Huff’s physicality and well-rounded skill set make her a perfect addition to the Premier Nebraska 16 Black lineup. She’s shifting over to a team that saw enormous qualifier success as 15s last year, so we’re bound to see Huff in the spotlight throughout the spring. The Elkhorn North sophomore elevates well and often scored over the top of opposing blockers last weekend. Huff also bolsters a strong 16 Black block that will keep improving with more repetitions. The stage is set for another run to GJNC.

Elkhorn North’s freshman class did not disappoint last year. Huff was one of many underclassmen who saw significant playing time as the Wolves etched another tournament appearance in their expanding record book. This powerful opposite then competed with Premier Nebraska 15 Gold, which clawed its way to an Open bid through the Windy City Qualifier. Elkhorn North will feature several new contributors this fall while Huff is looking to expand her role within the offense.

Huff already made her presence felt in a talented Elkhorn North frontcourt, so you know she will be in the spotlight for a while. Her physicality provided a huge boost on the right side in three-hitter rotations, and Huff displayed enough flexibility to hit on the left in Rotation 1. If Huff continues to progress, the Wolves will boast one of Class B’s best offenses for another year. Nothing new there.
