Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Vohland was already a trendsetter for Lincoln Northeast as a sophomore, but she has upgraded her game further while rising to upperclassman status. The Rockets are blasting off to a successful start behind Vohland’s 2.7 kills per set and another three digs per set from the back row. She’s a rare athlete who can command either pin position while also patrolling the end line like a defensive specialist. Her club work with VCNebraska has brought her skills as an opposite to the forefront, but Vohland can also operate on the left for LNE.

Perhaps Vohland doesn’t fit the “under-the-radar” mold after how well she has performed this year. Vohland has brought some wicked firepower to VCNebraska 16 Black’s frontcourt, but her all-around skills are perhaps most surprising. This Lincoln Northeast prospect has exhibited her full repertoire as a passer and defender in the back row. Vohland is far from an ordinary right-side hitter.

Vohland has been a major catalyst for VCN 16 Black’s 2025 success. She gives the team an ever-present scoring threat on the right side, but that’s not Vohland’s only on-court role. This Lincoln Northeast sophomore can also play exceptional backcourt defense and has experience anchoring multiple zones along the end line. It’s a rare repertoire for an opposite, but Vohland will do whatever it takes to aid her squad’s success.

We’re pulling another 16s competitor for the Power League’s 17 Open division. Vohland is a versatile attacking force who does most of her damage on the right pin for VCNebraska 16 Black. She sees blockers well and is particularly good at chopping through narrow windows down the line. Moreover, 16 Black is not afraid to use Vohland as a backcourt contributor who can make defense plays atypical of an opposite. The Midwest Power League has allowed us to see this full range in Vohland’s game.

We’ve had a chance to assess VCNebraska 16 Black’s highlight film after the team’s 16 Club triumph at The Courts. Vohland was a persistent standout for the title-winning group and played a unique role as a six-rotation opposite. 16 Black looked to Vohland to produce plenty of clutch swings on the right pin, but that’s not where her influence ceased. We also saw Vohland lock down the middle-back area as a floor defender–a rare task for an opposite. 16 Black’s momentum keeps building after a successful Nationals stint last summer.

We’re wrapping up with two emerging stars in the Star City. Vohland impressed us when she competed with VCNebraska 15 Black, a team that saw plenty of postseason success this summer. That has translated to strong offensive output with Lincoln Northeast, where Vohland is putting up over two kills per set so far this fall. Her well-rounded game will keep the Rockets in the conversation among their Lincoln rivals.

Here’s another middle-opposite hybrid for your list. Vohland’s place in the VCNebraska 15 Black lineup can shift based on which system the team rolls out. If a 6-2 is the plan, Vohland can become one of the team’s leading scorers on the right pin. In other lineups, this Lincoln Northeast standout has displayed her dominance at middle blocker. Midseason qualifiers gave us several examples of how powerful Vohland can be on the quick tempos in front of the setter. Anything goes for Nationals.

Here’s one of Loewe’s counterparts on the right side. Vohland gives VCN 15 Black a serious 1-2 punch on the right pin, opening up the opportunity to run a two-setter offense. The 6-2 has paid dividends in early-season competitions, especially with Vohland putting up big numbers during her rotations at the net. Keep this team on your radar over the next couple of weeks.
