Lincoln Northeast battled through several close contests at the LPS Classic against teams like Lincoln Southwest, Lincoln Lutheran, and Lincoln Northwest. This marathon allowed us to get a full look at Chmelka’s ever-improving game on the pin. She brought her best during Saturday’s portion of the event and hit north of 0.400 in the finale against Lincoln Lutheran. Chmelka’s blocking technique has also evolved to provide LNE with some positive touches to use in transition. The Rockets are on track to improve upon last year’s win total and can continue to rely on Chmelka to reach that milestone.

Why not add one more to the run of Lincoln athletes? Chmelka’s range and power captured our attention when she represented Nebraska Juniors 15 Black, so we had lofty expectations for her showcase visit. She backed up this hype by demonstrating a mature all-around game among many of her older peers in six-on-six action. Chmelka is ushering in a new wave of talent at Lincoln Northeast and will add to the Rockets’ extraordinary pin depth.

Chmelka has emerged as Nebraska Juniors 15 Black’s driving force on the outside. The Lincoln Northeast standout brings a ton of on-court energy and matches it with an explosive approach along the net. Chmelka exhibited her full range at AAU Nationals, which included some crafty tool shots and an indefensible crosscourt heater. We’re eager to see Chmelka add to the list of Lincoln-area prep stars this fall.
