USAV GJNC Preview: 2027 Top Outsides

The USAV Girls Junior National Championships are here, taking place from July 3rd through the 11th in Las Vegas, Nevada. Top teams from across the country are currently preparing to compete in hopes of representing their club and region well. Many teams from the CEVA Region were awarded bids and are eager to show the country what volleyball from the Pacific Northwest looks like!     Leading up to the tournament, PrepDig Oregon will highlight players to watch from each of the CEVA teams that received bids.    Up now, the top outsides from the class of 2027 in attendance!    Meier has been a major component of the OJVA 15-1 Gold lineup and will be key as her team competes in the 15 National division at USAV Nationals. A six-rotation outside, Meier is terminal from both the front and back row when attacking. She showcases some impressive hang time, a quick and high snap, and smart placement decisions when she hits. Meier is also a strong blocker and serve receive passer.     Herber is an offensive weapon for NPJ Salem 15-1 National, and her skill will be needed as her team competes in the 15 American division at USAV Nationals. Standing at 6'2”, Herber is huge from the left pin, using a heavy arm and an explosive approach to detonate on the ball. Herber hits around and through the block effectively, using her versatile attacking arsenal to move the ball cross court and down the line with ease.     Fobi is one of the talented outside hitters for Aspire NW 15-1 Empire, and she will be a major player as her team plays in the 15 Freedom division at USAV Nationals. Fobi has great court vision, which she uses effectively to place shots into open court. Fobi is also very quick on transition and uses a fast approach and powerful arm swing when attacking.     Hunt is a standout player for Athena 15-1 Gold and her skill will be critical as her team battles in the 15 Freedom division at USAV Nationals. Hunt is incredibly athletic, showcasing quick footwork and an impressive vertical when attacking. Hunt excels at moving the ball around the court, tagging sharp angles, deep cross court, and down the line effortlessly. She is also a solid passer on both serve receive and defense.     Livingston has been dominant from the outside for NPJ Salem 15-1 National, and she will be an imperative player as the team competes in the 15 American division at USAV Nationals. When attacking, Livingston displays a great, quick tempo with an explosive approach, which, coupled with an impressive vertical and a fast arm swing, proves deadly. Livingston is also a forceful blocker and a consistent passer.     Ivester is a solid contributor for OJVA 15-1 Gold and she will be an important part of the team's lineup as they battle in the 15 National division at USAV Nationals. Ivester showcases a high reach and snap on the ball, and she excels at burying the ball deep into the court. Ivester utilizes the block in front of her well, and from the baseline she brings a tough standing serve.     Beaulieu has been an impressive attacker for Excel NW 15-1 Lux, and she will be key as her team competes in the 15 Freedom division at USAV Nationals. Beaulieu has a heavy hammer of an arm, which she uses well along with her fast approach to put the ball away deep into the court. Beaulieu is also a consistent passer, using quick reactions to make plays.     Wood has been a terminal left side attacker for COVC 16-1 National and will be key to the team's success as they battle in the 16 Patriot division at USAV Nationals. Wood is a smart attacker, hitting high off blockers' hands and finding openings on the court to make point-scoring plays. Wood showcases quickness on transition and an arsenal of smart shots.     Hanson is a dynamic player for Webfoot 16-1 Elite, and she will be a major player as her team battles in the 16 Patriot division at USAV Nationals. Hanson is solid from anywhere on the court, using an explosive approach and fast arm swing to pound the ball when attacking, and quick reactions and athleticism to make great plays on defense. Hanson has great court sense and often makes smart plays to score points for her team.     Gourley has been a key component of the Athena 15-1 Gold lineup, and her skills will be critical as her team competes in the 15 Freedom division at USAV Nationals. Gourley has such a powerful arm swing and can crush the ball down the line or sharp angle with ease, exhibiting a great attack range.
