About Julia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My game is fast-paced and intense. I bring a competitive edge to every match and focus on maintaining high energy and quick transitions on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m very competitive, but I also stay calm under pressure and love to have fun while playing.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Young Life Youth Ministry of Lake Orion Young Life Bible Campaigners of Lake Orion Academic Excellence Award 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 2024 and 2025 Oakland Activities Association Scholar Athlete Award 2024 and 2025 Lake Orion High School Scholar Athlete Award for Academics 2023 President's Award 2023 GPA Award 2022 National Junior Honor Society

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve really learned to play for my team rather than just for myself. With so many new and younger players on varsity this year, I’ve focused on being a calming presence that my teammates can lean on during games. It’s taught me the importance of leadership, communication, and putting the team’s success above my own.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’ve always felt a step behind since I started playing volleyball at 13, later than most girls. It’s felt like a constant race to catch up—but that challenge has also driven me to push harder and improve faster. As a middle blocker, I’ve also learned to adapt when sets aren’t perfect—finding ways to adjust quickly, stay

What type of college are you looking for?

A strong academic school where I can develop both as a student and a volleyball player. A campus that is “all in one area,” rather than spread-out.
