We're preparing for our first release of the Class of 2028 watch list, meaning we only have a couple of positional breakdowns of the class of '27 remaining. Today's edition will focus on the "bigs" in this class, with a pleasant surprise in the #5 slot.

[player_tooltip player_id='443848' first='Carsyn' last='Comer'], 6-3, Westfield

Big and physical, Carsyn absolutely owned the middle position at our Stock Up Showcase just a month ago. She adjusted to every setter she had, put balls away with pace, and was an intimidating force throughout. As part of Munciana's Samurai (read: 18-1) next club season, she will have plenty of opportunities to show off her impressive array of athleticism and skill, all while playing at an 18 Open level. Miss Comer is a no-doubt recruit, and I would not be surprised if she were the first to earn a commitment next summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='435867' first='Lila' last='Bruszewski'], 6-1, Carmel

Lean and fast, Lila has all of the tools and the talent to be an M1 at the next level for whomever wants one. I will personally have a chance to watch her work at Center Grove on Tuesday, September 3, when she will face class of '25 top ten recruit and Stanford commit [player_tooltip player_id='173248' first='Reese' last='Dunkle'] head-to-head. Her long arms and long strides make Lila appear taller than she actually is, and her jumping ability has her compete well against bigger competition.

[player_tooltip player_id='481214' first='Marley' last='Vanwanzeele'], 6-1, Mooresville

From a traditional basketball school comes an athletic young lady from the southwest side of Indianapolis. Marley is already jumping past ten feet, has already spent time competing against open-level competition in her age group (and performed well), and is more than capable of being one of the best middles in this or any class here in Indiana. Another long-and-lean product from Circle City, Marley is fast and agile, and will sneak up on you if you're not completely ready to go 100% from the first whistle.

[player_tooltip player_id='443858' first='Lana' last='Mays'], 6-2, Fishers

I got a chance to watch Lana in person last week against North Central, and she's all that's advertised and more. Already past ten feet in her attack touch, she dominated at the net both defensively and offensively, while also producing a surprisingly tough jump float serve throughout the match. Yes, she's still a little raw at times, but all of that athleticism and speed will make the grind of improvement that much easier for her in the future.

[player_tooltip player_id='443864' first='Chloe' last='Moss'], 5-9 RS/MB, Cathedral

I keep listing Miss Moss as a right side as well because, well, there aren't any 5-9 middles in D1 ball, are there? ARE THERE?!? The more I watch Chloe, the more I'm convinced that she will be the smallest Division I middle once the fall of 2027 rolls around. It doesn't matter who's in front of her---big or small, fast or slow, broad-shouldered or lithe---Chloe beats them ALL. She transitions faster than anyone I've seen thus far in this class, hits angles with a whip of an arm, and can defend from pin to pin with the ease of the bigger kids listed here today. And did I mention she's jumping past ten feet already? I love watching this kid play (and dominate) against all competition. Take some time out of your day to watch her work; she's a testament to how you SHOULD play this lovely game of ours.

We're preparing for our first release of the Class of 2028 watch list, meaning we only have a couple of positional breakdowns of the class of '27 remaining. Today's edition will focus on the "bigs" in this class, with a pleasant surprise in the #5 slot.
