About Sophie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Utility. I have played OH, MH, RS and DS. I was MH and RS for my high school teams and a 6 rotation OH for Dallas Arsenal for 2 years and a 3rd upcoming (2025-26)

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Calm and cool, even under pressure. I won't show frustration or anger but instead choose to regroup and outwork the other players while remaining stone faced.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of our high school Yoga Club.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am captain of our Dallas Arsenal Volleyball Club team. I am an encouraging leader and refuse to be negative towards my teammates when they are struggling. I am a firm believer that team atmosphere is more important than the talent on the court. You can have all the talent in the world, but if you do not embrace your teammates, they will not want to battle for you.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I suffered a grade 3 ankle sprain my sophomore year during our preseason scrimmage. I was relegated to junior varsity upon my return from injury where I proceeded to be come JV Offensive Player of the Year. I am now a middle hitter on varsity in my junior year and am 2nd on the team in offensive efficiency and hitting.

What type of college are you looking for?

A D2 college in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, or Kansas. A school that prides itself on developing talent and not just assembling a roster of "who's who". I want a team that has a strategy to their roster and values teamwork and cohesiveness.
