About Katelyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am very composed under pressure and naturally calm, but try to be an encouraging player for my team extremely talkative and positive both on and off the court

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I like to constantly push myself and really embrace challenging situations. I consider myself pretty resilient and able to persevere through tough situations. I don’t mind road blocks and always find a way past them. I see challenges as an opportunity for growth

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Advanced academic watch list, national honor society, presidents award for outstanding academic achievement

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I think you’re only as strong as your team so teamwork is huge. I love being the one to bring people together and try to be an encourager my team can trust

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My biggest challenge was moving from a small area to a very big city. I realized I was a small piece in a big puzzle and starting over was scary, but I tried to see it as an opportunity for growth. I went into a new environment and school not knowing anyone and having zero connections but learned to adapt quickly, and it taught me that being uncomfortable can lead you to progress and success

Katelyn is currently listed as the 136th best overall prospect in the 2026 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays volleyball at The Woodlands High School and club for the TAV Houston volleyball program.  After moving to the Houston area from the Valley this summer, miss Cavazos is ready for the big stage.  We have seen her a few times and love her work ethic and athleticism.  There is no doubt in my mind that she could thrive in a college program based off of what we saw from her in the Expo.  Her talent resides in how fast she is able to track the ball down and deliver pinpoint accurate sets to every single location.  Her jump set showcases her amazing athletic talent and it has a lot of flare to it.  I love how her hands look like mirror images of each other as she softly delivers the ball.  Katelyn also is great at changing tempos and can really push the ball if needed.  She truly understands how to run the middle early and often and this really helps her to create some holes in the opposing block.  College coaches who need a dynamic setter who can run a fast paced offense and not get rattled need to give this young lady a few looks this club season.  I don’t think you will be disappointed at all.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a Most Valuable Player award and a Top Performer award at the Expo.
