When you approach a court, Paige Hinze isn’t going to stand out as the tallest athlete on the court. She will stand out as a player who can do it all. On her Minnesota Select 18-3 team, she is a 6 rotation Outside Hitter who passes in each rotation and attacks from every space on the net. She attacks with a range in shot selection that keeps defenses on their toes and challenged to guess what she is going to do next.

The Maple Grove High School Junior has been a four-year member of the Varsity Volleyball Team and a three-year starter. In her Junior season this past fall, she led the team in attacking attempts and serve reception attempts, and finished second in both kills with 203 and digs with 281.

In addition to volleyball, Paige also plays basketball at Maple Grove High School and sees the benefit to being a multi-sport athlete. “I feel that each sport has helped me strengthen my quickness, coordination, endurance, vertical and body control. Being a multi-sport athlete has helped me develop my time management skills so that I can balance my time with family, friends, school and sports.” Many days this winter, she would finish her day at school, go to basketball practice, and finish her day with her club volleyball practice.

“I enjoy that volleyball is a team sport, the competition, and making friends,” Paige said about her choice to play volleyball. Paige feels her strengths are leadership, competitiveness, and dedication. Paige is a go-to attacker on her team in the front and back row, especially when the game is on the line. It is clear when you watch Paige compete with her team, there is a high level of trust between her and her teammates.

Paige has her sights set on playing college volleyball, and no doubt with her skill set, competitive nature and leadership, she would be an asset to any college volleyball program.
