Texas Superb Sophomore Scorers Vol 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Who is proving on the court that they are the best of the best in their position?  Some say that numbers do not lie and we have the numbers that are being reported by coaches across the state.  Texas is one of the best states in the nation when it comes to this wonderful sport and we are here to highlight all of our amazing players.  Let's meet a few of the players who are according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays for Pantego Christian High School and also plays for the [program_tooltip program_id='510733' first='Drive' last='Nation'] volleyball club program.  Miss Norton has made a huge splash this year and has catapulted her very high into our rankings.  She made one of the biggest jumps on the list due to her utter dominance at the net.  Her production on the offensive end this year has her listed as the leader in kills amongst all sophomore attackers.  Her total stands at an astonishing 578 kills on a ridiculous .386 hitting percentage.  The sheer fact that she is six foot three and uber athletic should scare any defender to get in her way.  I have seen her in person many times over the last two years since she burst onto the scene and her stock is rising super fast in the college coach/recruiting discussions happening behind the scenes.  If you have not seen her play, then you should grab some popcorn and catch a seat to see the fireworks as this kid puts on a major show.  We are very proud to have her listed in our publication and want to congratulate her on an amazing year killing the ball. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays at Sotomayor High School and also plays for the [program_tooltip program_id='431254' first='San' last='Antonio Juniors'] volleyball club.  Miss Barrera has skyrocketed onto the big stage as of late and is crushing the ball to say the least.  Currently she has tallied 461 kills and that is good enough for third most amongst all sophomore attackers in this wonderful state.  From the moment she stepped on her campus, she has been a “go to” hitter and risen to the occasion.  She has already surpassed her kill total from last year in fewer sets played.  That alone should tell everyone in her path to watch out for her when she is in the lineup against them.  She is getting better and better each match, so every college coach in the country should take notice of this assassin.  The two sport stud also shines on the basketball court for Sotomayor and that tells me a lot about her athletic ability.  What I really love about her attacking is how she is always ready to swing on the ball.  It doesn't matter if the team is in system or not, as there are many times where she pounces on overpass situations or is ready to stop her transition in order to adjust and attack quickly.  This is not an easy thing to do and it should speak volumes about her athleticism. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays for Montgomery High School and plays club for the [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'] program.  I have gotten the privilege of seeing Miss Wright in action both in the club scene and during our showcase that she attended this summer and boy was I impressed.  I was very interested to watch her in action this high school season because I knew that she would continue her breakout performance from her freshman season where she obliterated everyone in her way.  This season she has been more aggressive and is scoring at a much higher clip with 3.9 kills per set.  Currently she sits at 435 kills in total and the season is nowhere near done as they are in the end of the second leg of district play.  Everything about her play at the net is super explosive.  Her footwork seems to drive hard into the ground in order to propel her toward the path of the ball when approaching from her touch point.  Once she is in the air, it will very hard for the average spectator to see her arm during her down swing because it is that lightning fast while in motion.  The ball absolutely pops out of her hand after contact and barrels toward the ground on the opposing side.  Defenders better be in their position well before she contacts the ball in order to have a chance to dig it, because it has some
