<p><strong>CORALVILLE, Iowa - </strong>Sioux City Heelan showed nerves of steel in a tight match with defending state champion North Scott on Wednesday. The second-seeded Crusaders found a way to win the big points time and time again during a 3-0 victory in a Class 4A action Wednesday at the state tournament. </p>

<p>The [program_tooltip program_id='431978' first='Lancers' last=''] looked invincible during a domination of Glenwood on Monday. A confident Heelan outfit started strong in winning the first two sets on Wednesday only to see North Scott blast off to a 9-0 lead in Set 3. </p>

<p>Leaning on their confidence, the Crusaders stormed back to tie the match at 19-19. They scored six of the match's final eight points from there to reach Thursday's 4A championship match against underdog Pella. </p>

<p>"It was a big deficit, but I think that says a lot about us that we were able to battle back and pull out that win," Heelan's [player_tooltip player_id='389834' first='Ava' last='Lloyd'] said. </p>

<p>Lloyd posted a team-high 14 kills, and [player_tooltip player_id='217136' first='Maliyah' last='Hacker'] added 13. [player_tooltip player_id='493980' first='Melina' last='Snoozy'] and Addison Kleis teamed up for 17 kills, and Maddie LaFleur dished out 37 assists to go with 10 digs. Hacker came up with a team-best 11 digs, and [player_tooltip player_id='389836' first='Ireland' last='Jackson'] contributed nine. </p>

<p>"We had the most confidence we've ever had as a team," Hacker said. "Everything was clean, everything was working. We stuck together as a team. We knew what needed to be done, and we did it." </p>

<p>Heelan sits one win away from claiming its first state title since winning back-to-back championships in 2006-07. </p>
