About Ashley

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a fast, smart setter who loves running a quick offense and keeping blockers guessing. Because I’m left-handed, I’m also a strong right-side attacker, so I’m always looking for chances to score or make a play that helps my team.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am highly competitive, but I try not to take myself too seriously. I love to work hard, push myself, and bring positive energy to my team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes. I enjoy volunteering at my church, and I also work with Unified Sports athletes at my high school and with my dad’s nonprofit. These programs partner athletes with students who have special needs to create fun, inclusive sports opportunities for everyone.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve grown a lot as a leader on the court, especially as a setter. I try to communicate clearly, encourage my teammates, and stay calm under pressure. Working with Unified Sports has taught me patience, kindness, and how to include everyone. I’ve also learned how to be a great teammate by supporting others no matter what role I’m in.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes. I’ve played on teams where I wasn’t the starter and had to work hard to earn my spot. It pushed me to improve my skills, stay motivated, and trust the process. In the end, I earned my position, and it made me a stronger player and teammate.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a program that values a left-handed setter/hitter who can contribute in different systems. I’m comfortable running a 6-2 because I can set and also be an offensive threat on the right side. I also enjoy running a 5-1, where I can take full leadership of the offense and stay on the court in all rotations. I want a school where I can be part of a strong team culture.
