Here’s our Avoli Committed Athlete. We went in-depth on Wilkens’ tremendous impact here, and she was an obvious choice for our all-showcase squad. This Kearney High School junior has a full arsenal of shots on the left side and remains an attacking option in Zone 6. And, of course, we have to praise Wilkens’ character and work ethic after she made the trip from central Nebraska to La Vista. She did it all.

We’re always thrilled to see some central Nebraska representation at our showcases, and we’ve drawn one of the region’s best from the Class of 2027. Wilkens commanded a major role for Kearney Elite 16-1 while the team racked up a heap of wins on the regional circuit. She’s a six-rotation mainstay who always remains active when she rotates in the back row. Wilkens is a perfect fit for a showcase environment.

Kearney Elite 16-1’s emergence has been one of this year’s biggest storylines in the Great Plains Region. Wilkens has led the effort as a six-rotation outside hitter who does a little of everything for her squad. The Kearney High School sophomore can terminate over opposing blockers and is the leading out-of-system scorer for her club. We were introduced to Kearney Elite on the regional circuit, and the team kept improving during a qualifier trip to Kansas City. Wilkens is racking up quality reps with her high school teammates and will likely start a productive upperclassman journey this fall.

Kearney Elite’s central identity hasn’t changed since we last saw the team during March’s Nebraska Elite Classic. Wilkens has always been a focal point of the offense, and she took another step forward at Sunday’s tournament. Her fearless attitude shines through as she takes aggressive swings at the net. The Kearney High School sophomore has also worked on her all-around game to become a six-rotation option for her club squad. Best of all, Wilkins is getting valuable reps with many of her high school teammates in club venues. Expect the upward trend to continue.

Kearney has a new leading scorer for the next two years. Wilkins paced the Bearcats with three kills per set this year and exhibited some impressive range on the left side. This explosive attacker was not afraid to challenge opposing blocks and work off hands to get her kills. Central Nebraska’s growing talent pool has gained another key figure in the Class of 2027.
