. At 5’9″ she may be a little undersized for Division I but she knows how to find the floor on the other side of the net. She is the primary offensive performer for Archbishop Spalding.
Her game has certainly shown a lot of improvement since last season. Someone who is worth a second look if your last glance at her was last club season. This is her first year with Maryland Juniors.

175 to 120. At 5’9″ she is another one of those smaller but talented left sides that can put the ball away. At Spalding Madelyn was their main offensive player who also filled all six rotations. I have gotten glimpses of her these last two years when BOC played them. It was clear that her game had improved a lot from the past season.
Jeremy likes her so that gives her an extra boost. It will be fun to see her improvement after playing at Maryland Juniors for one season.

I’ve seen Maddie a ton this year with Maryland Juniors, but after a few weeks off and watching her play with her HS team, even I was surprised a little. She was hitting with so much power and authority it was startling fans. She played all around and showed improved defense on the serve receive. She was easily Spalding’s best player in the time I watched them play and looks like she’s ready to make some noise in the IAAM conference this season.

Maddie is a solid pin hitter that falls into that “tweener”category. Her defense and serve received have improved over the course of the season, to the point where she sometimes plays the all around 6. With another inch or two either height wise, or vertical wise, she would be putting balls down consistently on the 10 foot line, as it is, she leverages her timing to get the ball down, both down line and cross court. She’s got a wonderful roll shot that she uses to get a good number points and she’s very smart about when to use it. Maddie’s serving has really taken a step forward this year, having multiple runs over the course of the season, and her block game at the net has been improving steadily as well.
