Expert Analysis
Bob Abels | Prep Dig Scout
One of the top liberos in the D.C./Maryland area. Her passing and defensive play led Maryvale to an IAAM crown in 2024. This past year they finished second to a very stacked Annapolis Area Christian team.
Victoria has already committed to Bridgewater. Interesting that six of the top eight liberos in the class of 2027 have committed. Perhaps colleges are recognizing the importance a talented libero creates to a good offense
If you go back to the 2022 Capitol Hill Classic award winners Victoria won the best receiver award.

best setter. That is a pretty impressive group, especially when you look at what they have accomplished in the four years since.

One thing you can say about Victoria is she remains pretty loyal. While half her Maryland Jrs. 15 team left for Paramount Victoria stayed with Maryland Juniors. Of course, it may be harder as a libero to take another liberos spot.
She is one of the best in the business with her passing and playing defense. Two years ago, Maryvale won the IAAM Bracket “A” championship. Last year they reached the finals before losing to Annapolis Area Christian. All of this success because one of the top liberos in the area competes in the back row.
Of course, just as I start writing this up I learn she has recently committed to Bridgewater.

Easily the best Libero in the IAAM Conference, she does everything right and smooth. Solid platform. Accurate passing. Hustle. Communication. Leadership. This is what you want when you are looking for a leader and Libero. She easily has the tools to succeed at the next level, and from the number of coaches watching her this past season, that’s a when, not an if. Looking forward to what 2026 brings for her.

I’m not the only Prep Dig scout to watch a Maryland Juniors match and come away impressed with their libero. At the Northeast Qualifier she stood out for her play, especially her serving getting special mention.
Maryland Juniors lost a number of significant offensive weapons from last year’s team so they will not be playing in Dallas this year. Last year her play impressed at junior nationals creating an opportunity to be one of the biggest risers in the class of 2027. Her passing stays consistent while her defense remains steady. She can make the routine defensive plays look easy while making the spectacular dig look almost routine.

Victoria is one of the top prospects in Maryland, and one of the veteran leaders on MDJRS 16 Elite Black. This weekend her hard float serve with late movement was outstanding, going on multiple runs in every game, keeping her team in the mix in every set. Her consistency makes the game look easy, and she’s going to be a key for the team at both sets of Nationals.
