About Sara

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’d say my style is aggressive and energetic. I love playing all the way around, hitting hard in the front row and hustling in the back row. I try to stay consistent and keep the pressure on the other team, while maintaining a high energy for our team to thrive in.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m very competitive and I love the adrenaline of big moments. I don’t back down when the game gets tough. I also try to stay positive and keep the energy up to encourage my teammates, because I know we play better when we’re lifting each other up.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’ve been on the honor roll the past three years, and I’m also involved in my church’s youth group. Both have taught me responsibility and how to stay committed to things outside of volleyball.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Volleyball has taught me how important communication and trust are. I’ve gotten better at being a leader by being vocal and helping my team stay focused. I’ve also learned discipline and how much commitment matters if you want to get better.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One challenge has been learning how to bounce back from mistakes or tough losses. It used to bother me a lot, but now I use it as motivation. Another challenge is balancing school and volleyball, but it’s made me more focused and better at managing my time.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to go to a college where I can play at a high level and keep improving, but also where I feel supported in the classroom and on the court. I want a team that feels like family, where everyone works hard and pushes each other.
