Setters Leading the Way To 17 USAV Nationals!

Top teams from the Northwest will be headed to USAV Nationals in late June and early July in Dallas, Texas. It's a challenging tournament, and Washington squads will need to bring their best to earn wins against excellent teams from across the country. SIVBC 17 Storm gets a shout-out for earning a bid to the Open Division, an outstanding and challenging achievement that is rare for the PNW. Here are several setters who have been driving their teams' success in their journey to 17 Nationals.      Sudden Impact is headed to the Open Division at 17 Nationals, and Quitiquit is one of the driving forces behind the team's success. The Kennedy Catholic star is finding her hitters in all the right matchups and is a defensive force from the setter spot. Quitiquit is a winner, and that is the ultimate measure for a setter.     Leapai has beautiful hands and a tremendous feel for the game. Her skill and ability to push the ball all over the court enable SIVBC to run a 6-2 offense with two high-level setters setting to a front row full of lethal attackers. Leapai will be headed to Central Washington for her college ball after finishing up at Bellevue.     Jelsing is another quality setter emerging from Wenatchee and CRU. At 5'9", she has excellent size at the position and helped lead CRU Max 17 to a USA bid at PNQ. Jelsing's strength is her accuracy and calm approach; she stays neutral and sets a hittable ball for her attackers. She has the versatility to play a 5-1 or step in and attack as a right-side. Jelsing is an excellent prospect and one to watch!     [program_tooltip program_id='747679' first='Emerald' last='Rain'] will compete in the National Division at Nationals. Humphrey is a critical part of the team's terrific first year together, playing setter and right side. Her size and athleticism are outstanding for the position; she is a tough matchup as a right-side blocker with her timing and press. Jacobson was named the MVP of the division at Emerald City, and Club South earned the 17th National bid for the Evrgreen Region. Jacobson has a positive and energized attitude on the court, which makes the team around her better. She sets the tone, playing with grit and hustle every time out.       Bellerive is a fearless competitor and dynamic athlete for the PJVBC 17 National team. The team will compete in the Liberty Division at Nationals, after earning a bid at Regionals. Bellerive has excellent footwork and elite speed; she gets to and around the second ball, putting herself in position to make a complicated set look easy. The 2026 plays defense first; she reads hitters and makes plays on tips and blistering swings.     PSVBA 17 Legacy will compete in the Freedom Division, earning a bid out of the PSR. Webber has all the skills you like to see in a 6-2 setter. She is accurate, likes to run the middle, and has quick feet to chase down tough passes. Webber is a crafty offensive setter; she will use a well-timed dump on the second ball to score and keep defenses honest.
