About Gianna

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to run quick plays to throw off the other teams, and try my hardest to never let it drop. I try hard to do my job so it makes the passers job easier, and so I can contribute to scoring more points.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would say that I have lots of drive to win and am very competitive. Also I try to observe the teams we play because i think if you watch them you can anticipate what they will do and will know their game style better.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I participate in SALT (student athlete leadership ship team), for both years of middle school and plan to in high school. I was awarded a ribbon for having a 4.0 gpa for a semester.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

5 hours total, last year I did 2 hours of community service helping provide food to homeless, one hour of packing toiletry bags for st vincent de paul, 2 hours of serving desserts for homeless. I was the captain of my middle school team last year. I think it’s important to build a relationship on and off the court, because for me being a middle it’s important to have a connection with my setter

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One challenge i have faced is people not believing in me. So every time I step onto the court I try to prove to the people that don’t believe in me.

What type of college are you looking for?

d1 colleges, that offer an opportunity for me to play. That also includes good acedemics.

Bruemmer is a high-elbow attacker with good length and range at 6’2. When she is on time and her setters can extend her touch point, she can challenge the defense well at the point of contact. A reserve option offensively for her Anderson team in her freshman varsity season this past Fall, she was one of the best in the ECC on the other side of the ball as she finished top five in blocking. Elevation has some good core pieces on this team and if she can score, their balance will be dangerous to defend for opponents. They finished 5th at the recent Nike Classic.
