About Calise

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a fast, vocal libero who reads the game well and takes pride in being reliable in serve receive and defense. I stay calm under pressure, communicate constantly, and focus on putting my teammates in the best position to score. I play with high energy, chase every ball, and bring consistency and toughness to the back row.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a competitive, disciplined player who is confident, coachable, and consistent. I take accountability for my play, respond well to feedback, and stay composed in high-pressure situations. I bring a positive attitude every day, communicate well with my teammates, and put the team first by doing whatever is needed to help us win.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am actively involved in my community and school. I participate in a Christian Youth Group in my city and am a member of Link Crew at my school, where I help support and mentor incoming students. Academically, I have received multiple honors including Honor Roll, Principal’s Honor Roll, a 4.5+ GPA patch, and All-League Academic recognition for both the Indoor and Beach Volleyball seasons.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Volleyball has helped me develop strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. I lead by example, stay accountable, and focus on being a reliable teammate. I also give back to my community by volunteering at my city’s rodeos, where I help with ticketing, raffles, and food service.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I faced a significant challenge when I broke my collarbone right before my first high school volleyball season. Instead of seeing it as a setback, I used it as an opportunity to grow. The recovery taught me patience, discipline, and mental toughness, and it made me even more motivated to come back stronger. Volleyball itself is always a challenge I’m willing to take, and my love for the game drive

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I can continue to grow both academically and athletically. I want a program that challenges me on the court, has strong coaching, and a team culture that values hard work and development. At the same time, I want a school with a supportive academic environment where I can succeed in the classroom and prepare for life after volleyball.
