Playing taller and longer than her 5’6” frame would otherwise indicate, Brylee is a reliable and strong passer in serve receive. With a strong base and a calm platform, Miss Faulk is steady-as-she-goes when passing. On defense, Brylee’s read-and-react type of defensive posture will carry her far in her recruitment process, as there’s always a need for strong defenders AND serve receive specialists in the collegiate game.

This undersized and overachieving outside from COA was a big reason why Shakamak had the season that they did, and with her help have a deeper run next fall. Probably a DS or libero when she enters college, she’s taking full advantage of her attacking abilities at the moment. Her season ended in a four-set loss, yet her stat line—-17 kills, 27 digs and 16 service receptions without error—-shows that leadership comes in all sizes.

Although used as a full-time six-rotation outside for Shakamak, her future lies in her ability to pass and defend. With quick feet and a calm platform, Brylee is one of the better small school passers in this class by having a first-step quickness that is second to very few. I like her decision making on the court—-rarely is she out of control or making an unforced error, which makes sense considering how much of a factor she is in her team’s successes. She can also attack in a pinch; I would not be surprised if she played a little outdoor ball in her spare time, as her attacking looks the part of an outdoor player.
