Player Bio

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my playing style as scrappy. Every touch may not be a perfect play, but when I am on that court, the ball isn't going to hit the floor without my best effort.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am hard on myself as a player, which causes me to be naturally very hardworking, since I tend to believe I am behind my volleyball peers. Recently, I have been trying to be nicer and have grace for myself, while maintaining my hardworking attitude.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I earned a teamwork accolade from the administration program at my school this year. Additionally, I was a part of my school's competitive debate team all three years, and even was named a captain.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed leadership and have grown against my natural introvert instincts. When I obtained my black belt as a young teen, I also obtained a teaching role as a part time job. This really helped me come out of my shell and learn how to lead a group. Since then, I have been captain of my debate team and coached a youth summer swim program.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have struggled with anxiety over the years and overcomed its negative impacts on my life. Mental health can be so hard sometimes because it is so invisible, but will never go away. Instead of getting trying to rid myself of anxiety, I have worked to learn coping mechanisms and be more emotionally aware to avoid bad episodes.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that will challenge me academically, yet still have a strong student athlete program. I would want to play at a competitive volleyball school, but I still care about my education quality.
