About Emma

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Emma’s playing style is described in a way that any setter hopes for — selfless. She just has a way of making the players around her better, and her accuracy is beyond her years.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

A selfless and driven leader, Emma combines toughness with a genuinely kind soul. At just 12 years old, she led her team to a USAV National Championship and helped North Broward Prep capture a District title as a varsity starter. At 13, her Tribe team never finished lower than third—including USAV and AAU. Now 14, Emma has led her varsity team to its first-ever Florida State Championship.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Emma is an active member of the National Honor Society and has received the North Broward Prep Student of Character award on two occasions. This award acknowledges students who consistently demonstrate the core character traits valued by the school, including cooperation, responsibility, citizenship, kindness, respect, honesty, self-control, and tolerance.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through volleyball and her academic journey, Emma has developed a strong set of skills that extend well beyond the court. Leadership is one of her standout qualities—especially as a setter, where she’s responsible for directing the team’s offense, reading the game in real time, and making split-second decisions that can shift the momentum of a match.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Just as the 2024 North Broward Prep varsity season began, the team’s starting setter suffered a torn ACL, leaving Emma, then only a 7th grader, to step in. She then led the team to its first District Championship in eleven years—a feat the FHSAA recognized as unprecedented for a setter her age.

What type of college are you looking for?

Emma is looking to attend a college that offers both a top-tier education and a highly competitive Division I volleyball program. She wants to be challenged academically while continuing to grow and compete at the highest level of the sport she loves. It’s important to her to find a school that values excellence in the classroom and on the court.
