About Kaida

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a defensive-minded player with strong serve-recieve and consistent ball control. I specialize in reading the court, passing and making big plays. I'm a high energy player, who celebrates my teammates successes.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

On the court, I'm locked in, disciplined and always striving to make the smart play. I love big games that push me as far as I can go.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I played for Nebraska D-League a few years ago, and now I am play for LCC Juniors out of Laurel, NE. It is our LCC team who is coached by current Wayne State College players. I was an FFA officer last year, and am active in my church youth group.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Focus and Discipline. Defense and serve-receive require constant attention, smart positioning and quick decision making. Playing in the state tournament finals this year I learned how to have confidence under pressure. I had to take on a leadership role for less experienced players by communicating and leading with encouragement and focus.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Absolutely! Volleyball is for the mentally strong and you have to be able to handle high pressure situations. As a primary passer, you have to face pressure everytime the ball is served over the net. Learning to stay calm and reset is key. I don't mind challenges, they get the best player out of people.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge’s balanced offense brought several different stars in the spotlight this fall. Eriksen capitalized on the biggest spotlight of all during LCC’s ascent to the Class C2 title match. She tallied 16 kills in the team’s upset win over Norfolk Catholic and displayed her full repertoire on the left pin. Eriksen pounced on open seams in the block and looked more than comfortable in the Bears’ up-tempo attack. The Class of 2027 continues to deliver for LCC.
