Top Performers Raise Stock at IL Stock Up Showcase

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The IL Stock Up showcase featured some of Illinois' best Sophomore through Senior talent. I was very impressed with the talent, hustle, and skill level of the girls in the gym. Any time you watch a sport, in this case volleyball, certain players will stand out to you. These 10 girls stood out to me and definitely raised their stock up with their performance at the showcase. Your eyes are drawn to her when you see her at the net. She is a big force, and when she gets her set, she hits it down over you or through you. During the scrimmages, I saw her make some great plays. She moved well to block and had great timing with her footwork to swing. She moved great for her position, had good feet, and was a problem for the other players at the net. She had multiple blocks on the day and some great kills. Her hits were forceful and powerful. She carried a quiet confidence about her. She was explosive and decisive when at the net. The kills I saw from her were just that, ball kills, and in play. She had really good pace and timing with her footwork and sets to the hitters. She had nice, strong hands but a great touch. I saw her set up dimes to the hitters during the showcase. She was smart as well, using setter dumps for kills here and there. She was scrappy all over the court and at the net. I saw her pass, I saw her swing for kill,s and keep points alive. Good lift when swinging at the net, but her motor and fight had her stand out to me. She was sure of herself in the way she moved and made decisions to cover and read. I saw her make a bunch of great passes right to the setter. She seemed strong with her movement and strong with her platform. I saw her use them all during the showcase. She got great contact with the ball, and can really tell she's put the reps in. She also seemed to be a very complete volleyball player. Not sure if she's played any all around, but has a great feel on the court and in all aspects. I noticed when she made her swings, she was always hitting her spots. I saw her hit down the line, cut shots to the opposite side line. It was impressive to watch her pick her spots. Anytime I saw her she was doing something great. Whether it was hitting down on the ball as an outside hitter. She had great touch and was accurate with her sets. Her size during gameplay helped the team out at the net. Able to get touches and set save balls that were a bit off from passes. She's agile and skilled to make the on-the-move set as a back set or to the outside.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This showcase had approximately 100 girls in attendance. Some of the coaches in attendance said a lot of these ladies at the showcase could step in right now and contribute at the college level! High praise in my opinion. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
