Without question one of the top freshmen in the state, Cinadr has taken the competition by storm in her first prep campaign. It’s matched what I saw from her this summer at the USAV National Tournament in Indianapolis, when she was standing out through six rotations for the best Iowa team in her age group. I caught up with the exciting volleyball prospect again at the Iowa City High quad in late September. Operating as a three-rotation outside hitter, Cinadr was swinging with the type of authority not often seen from such a young competitor. She has a really good feel for the pin, powering through the block when available, also working off of it or around it depending on what the defense presents. There’s definite six-rotation potential here. Cinadr should already be firmly on colleges radar.

is another pin who gained a lot of attention this past club season. She was a key piece of Iowa Select 14 Mizuno’s first-place finish in the region, as well as many top finishes at various qualifiers. Cinadr finds big ways to contribute to her team in all aspects of the game. Offensively, she has a quick arm swing and great range, all while being incredibly tough to read. Defensively, she puts up a big block in the front row and makes great first contact in the back row.

I was curious to see how Cinadr would perform under the pressure of being a freshman and competing against some of the top-ranked athletes in the state. But she proved that she could not only hold her own, but also excel under the pressure. She found a way to stay aggressive when out of system, but also knew when to put the ball away. I think this rising star is going to play a big role in the Knights’ success this season.

Like everyone else in this rundown, Cinadr has a case to be seen as the top player in Iowa’s 3030 Class. That’s good news for the folks at Assumption just like it was for Select 14s, which won the Iowa Regional and finished 11th in the National Division at USAV Nationals. Cinadr competes hard through six rotations with a powerful swing from the pin and agility to defend well in the back row. Jumping ability, lateral quickness and sharp reflexes aid in a successful operation as do strong fundamentals. The defending champion Knights lost a lot to graduation, but young players teaming with key returnees could keep the train rolling in Davenport.

I like seeing outsides take a rip with aggression. That was 11 for Iowa Select. Whether they were in or out of system she was willing to swing big to put the other side in a state of confusion and chaos. I was able to watch this team back in early March and saw their potential. They are the Iowa Region champs and have shown solid growth where they have athletes who could contribute at the varsity level as freshmen in a couple months.

Iowa Select 14 Mizuno is playing up an age group (or two) technically. They made quick work on their opponents in pool play and will be eager to take on some top competition in the 15s and 15s age group.. When you have a pin like

, there is reason to their success. The six rotation outside hitter is able to score at will not only from the outside, but from multiple positions where she is able to adjust her angles and speed to put points on the board.
