However, it doesn’t take long to notice her after seeing her steadiness in serve receive and her ability to cover a good amount of the court. She has a strong role for the Knights and does her job extremely well. She and the other ds’ for Assumption work exceptionally well together, and she plays a big role in their stellar defense. You can tell there is a lot of respect for Burkhart from her coaches and teammates.

Burkhart saw action for an Assumption varsity that featured a lot of seniors last season. The experience will have prepared her for an expected larger role in 2025. So, too, will her work with Platform Elite this club campaign. Burkhart can compete to wear the jersey for the Knights after the graduation losses. Even if she’s sharing it or playing DS, she’s equipped for success. Burkhart reads the attack well and covers a lot of the court. She shows a good feel for serve-receive and has room to grow in that facet of the game, which is true of younger back-row performers.
