The Cleanest Hands of the Houston Freshman Showcase

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The high school volleyball season is quickly approaching in the state of Texas, and on Sunday, we from Prep Dig Texas had a fantastic opportunity to see first-hand some of the talented prospects who are set to start their high school careers over the next few weeks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Our traditional Prep Dig Freshman Showcase made it to Houston, with dozens of the best class of 2029 players from H-Town and beyond getting together for two hours of fast-paced drills at the [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'] facility.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It was a privilege to have the opportunity to get a sneak peek at the prospects we'll be covering for the next four years and there was a lot of talent on display on the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We've been taking the week to feature some of the players who stood out in our showcase, and in the last article we'll honor the setters who had the best hands in the event:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["628220"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-6894ff3012ea2"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Meade displayed a steady and intelligent game, standing out as one of the most promising setters on the court. She was very creative when working in system and ran a fast-paced offense when she could, setting against the flow with tremendous accuracy. One of the first things that got my attention in Meade's game was how well she dealt with passes off the net, quickly getting to it and showing impressive accuracy when she had to bump set. Standing at 5'11", she displayed a solid all-around game and was capable of making strong plays in different areas of the game. Rajevac was very precise with her locations and did a great job of setting against the flow, consistently getting her hitters in good spots. I remember having a positive impression of her at the time and what I saw on Sunday just strengthened my feeling that she has what it takes to be one of the top setters in the class. Prpa is extremely technical, and that shows every time she touches the ball. Another thing that separates her from other players in the position is her outstanding body control, which allows her to remain accurate when she has to go very low to get her hands on the ball or when she deals with tight passes up at the net.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["849290"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-6894ff3012f99"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Xu was among the best playmakers on the court and was impressed by how she quickly figured out how to connect with hitters of different profiles as the drills progressed. She has excellent setting hands and the ball came out clean every time she made contact with it. Xu was always very calm on the court, transmitting confidence to her teammates. She also displayed great quality in playing defense and performed some impressive digs during the event.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
