The Class of 2028 showed up for the Michigan Stock Up Showcase this past weekend.

The incoming sophomores were the most represented of any class, and it featured a lot of impressive talent.

Here's the fifth part of player evaluations from this class.

[player_tooltip player_id='779804' first='Reese' last='Robinson'], S Rochester Adams/High Performance

Robinson is a setter that showed she can mix things up while running an offense. She did her best to not remain predictable and keep the blockers guessing. She made good adjustments during drills and communicated well with hitters to find where they like the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='850734' first='Kyla' last='Kuiper'], S Zeeland East/FaR Out

Kupier brings a longer frame to the position at 5'10” and she was able to make her sets look rather simple, even when she was displaying some added athleticism. She got in a real nice groove setting to the outside hitters and she controlled her offenses well, directing hitters effectively.

Madison Gammon, DS/L Dryden/Legacy

Gammon had some really good highlights during the day. She's able to quickly contort herself in order to get to the ground and make a really difficult dig. Gammon was also great with backing up her hitters and being prepared to dig up a block. She also was very supportive of her peers and provided a lot of encouragement.

[player_tooltip player_id='587002' first='Cydnee' last='Speights'], OH Mercy/Legacy

Speights was one of the stronger hitters in the showcase, which is nothing new. She's got a lot of athleticism in her swing and she's able to get high off the ground. Speights is a very eager player as well, she wants as many reps as she can get and learns from each one. This could be a big year for her as she gets more opportunities to shine.

[player_tooltip player_id='765782' first='Abigail' last='Griffin'], S Romeo/Michigan Elite

Griffin had active eyes and analyzed the court very well throughout the showcase. She was able to stay ahead of defenses with her pace of play and court awareness. Griffin made a lot of smart plays as well, recognizing when to play a dump or when to set to the right side.

Leah Webb, MH Country Day/MI Legends

Webb stands just 5'6”, but wasn't afraid to mix it up with the bigger middles at the showcase. She can get high off the ground and produces an aggressive swing to fight through those blockers. Sometimes she was trying to force a power swing that wasn't there, but I appreciate that she wanted to prove she's got the ability to play middle despite her size. She definitely leaves it all on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='849832' first='McKenzie' last='Weinmann'], OH Dexter/Dynamite

Weinmann looked good in all areas of the game. She was balanced and in control whether on defense or on the attack. Her athleticism shined as she was able to make strong plays in every aspect, including serving. Weinmann also showed a good killer instinct to put the ball away with emphasis during a competitive rally.

[player_tooltip player_id='765783' first='Ava' last='Finney'], MB Flushing/Legacy

Finney definitely looks like a middle to keep an eye on for the future. She was consistently producing some of the most impressive attacks out of a strong class of middles. She's got a lot of spring off the floor without looking to use much energy. She can then uncork on the ball for a highlight-reel swing. On top of that, she's also very agile and can deliver a great slide attack.

[player_tooltip player_id='849956' first='Madisyn' last='Pipkin'], S OL St. Mary's/High Performance

Pipkin found herself in a nice setting groove as the pace of play picked up. She got a lot of good swings out of her hitters. Pipkin also has a good defensive foundation, as she made some tough digs and stayed prepped to back up her hitters during fast-paced scrimmages.
