The Texas High School volleyball season is now upon us. Last season there were some amazing teams and super competitive matches that took place. Everyone is practicing hard to solidify their lineups in order to chase the ultimate prize, a State Championship. There have been some big tournaments that have happened over the past few weeks and we are already starting to see some fireworks. Let's take a closer look at who is standing out for these teams on the rise.

Byron Nelson Bobcats

Can anyone stop the defending 6A Division II State Champs on their run for a repeat title? That remains to be seen as they are starting this season off just as they have finished last year. They are currently 11-0 on the young season and have looked absolutely dominant so far. The Bobcats are led by two assassins in left side attackers [player_tooltip player_id='253981' first='Ashlyn' last='Seay'] and [player_tooltip player_id='320954' first='Kylie' last='Kleckner']. Both have been doing this for a long time and know what it takes to score from every location on the court. Opposing defenses will have no breaks as each of these elite attackers take turns moving into the front row every three rotations. Junior setter [player_tooltip player_id='518965' first='Sophee' last='Peterson'] is no stranger to the high level as she is a setter on one of the most prolific club teams in her age group. She might be one of the best setters in the entire nation running this high-octane attack. The back row is led by junior libero [player_tooltip player_id='433667' first='Savannah' last='Sterna'] who leads them in digs. Senior right side Lexi Proctor is doing some damage at the net as she blocks everything coming her way and is also providing some much needed offense in the opposite side. Sophomore Mallory McMahon looks very strong in the middle on offense. She is someone that we will be watching closely. Junior defensive specialist [player_tooltip player_id='433638' first='Kaitlyn' last='Francis'] has also played extremely well in the back row for the Bobcats. The sky is really the limit for this team as they have a ton of tools that can take them for a long run in the playoffs. We hope you will be watching them like we will.

Allen Eagles

The Eagles had a long run in last year's state playoff chase and lost to the eventual champion, but now they have experience under their belt to go along with the hunger for the title. The secret weapon is no secret any longer after a phenomenal showing last season. Sophomore outside [player_tooltip player_id='586653' first='Maya' last='Ogbogu'] is the big gun and never runs out of ammo. She has some good help in fellow outside [player_tooltip player_id='235287' first='Kennedy' last='Crayton']. The sensational senior can fly and bang with the best of them. Sophomore pin [player_tooltip player_id='839343' first='Olivia' last='Kitur'] is long, strong, and a beast at the net on both sides of the ball. We are extremely excited about the play of six-foot one sophomore middle [player_tooltip player_id='827011' first='Katie' last='Wawersich'] who is killing the ball at a super high rate. Her efficiency on the offensive side of the ball and the blocking on the defensive side is a huge help. Her counterpart is another young stud, freshman Sayge Cahndler who is clogging up the net with solid blocks. The setting duo of [player_tooltip player_id='389257' first='Emily' last='Capangpangan'] and Landry Mccrae has this team firing on all cylinders as they are currently 8-1 overall on the young season. Senior libero [player_tooltip player_id='401534' first='Campbell' last='Sheffield'] has been digging everything in the back row and setting the tone for this hard nosed team. We are extremely proud of them and think they have a legitimate shot to be title contenders this year.
